  • Brand new, stylish, contemporary barn complex set in the scenic village of Devil’s Bridge, nr Aberystwyth, with unrivalled spacious rooms and wonderful views out over the Cambrian countryside. Devil's Bridge Retreat is a magical fantastic place to celebrate that special occasion or gather friends together for a relaxing break.
  • Formally a working farm which belonged to the historic Hafod Estate, Devil's Bridge Retreat is nestled amongst 13 acres of private grounds providing the 'away-from-it-all' peacefulness that you may long for but at the same time being easily accessible.
  • Devil's Bridge Retreat embraces open plan living with a flexibility of layout, light and airy accommodation on two floors, double height ceilings, welsh oak beams and oak flooring. It really is a special place to stay! Pet dogs are welcome too.
  • The house offers three large kitchens, three spacious dining areas and three cosy living rooms in addition to a games room and cinema/music room, a large outdoor hot tub, a full size football pitch and 13 acres of private grounds to explore.
  • There are 10 spacious bedrooms with very flexible bed layouts and 10 bathrooms. The property can comfortably sleep 20-28 people with an additional 10 people if required, taking it up to a maximum occupancy of 38. For the romantics there is a large bedroom suite with dressing area, bathroom and lovely Juliette balcony.
  • This beautiful structure has been sympathetically converted to a very high standard using quality materials. It has been awarded a Building Excellence award and also a Green Tourism Business Award for its eco-friendly approach.
  • During your stay, the owners (who live on site) are also at hand should you require any additional assistance and provide a very warm welcome.

  • There is much to enjoy near this high quality barn conversion set in beautiful countryside at the foot of the Cambrian Mountains. On your doorstep you’ll find stunning scenery and wildlife, beautiful walks, fishing, mountain biking nearby & plenty of opportunity to view the red kites gliding above.

Devils Bridge

  • Nestling between the Cambrian Mountains and the Cardigan Bay coastline, Devil's Bridge has been a tourist attraction for centuries, famous for the unique arrangement of its three bridges which are built one on top of the other. Various paths are accessed via coin-operated turnstiles that lead down to either side of the bridges.
  • The longest, steepest path goes right down to the valley floor giving wonderful views of spectacular cascading waterfalls and crossing the raging torrent before climbing back all the way up the other side.

Hinterland

  • The gripping Nordic-noir TV detective drama series set in Aberystwyth against the backdrop of the Cambrian Mountains has been immensely popular with TV audiences.
  • Twm’s Treks offers a choice of 8 guided walks based on this compelling TV series, taking you from the stunning coastline of Ceredigion up to the rural Cambrian Mountains visiting various filming locations, you will certainly be wowed as well as entertained along the way!

The Rheidol Valley Steam Railway

  • Experience an unforgettable journey on a steam train through the magnificent Welsh countryside from Aberystwyth to Devils Bridge - enjoy spectacular views of the wooded Rheidol Valley on the hour-long journey. 

Rheidol Cycle Trail

  • This 28km trail takes you from Aberystwyth to Devils Bridge and Nant yr Arian where there is a selection of trails available from the Visitor Centre.

The Red Kite Centre, Nant yr Arian

  • Enjoy watching the red kites and the views from the most popular woodland in mid Wales. There is a range of walking and mountain-biking trails, Visitor Centre and café.

The Hafod Estate

  • Travel a little further inland to the Hafod Estate in the Ystwyth Valley. Recognised as one of the finest examples in Europe of a ‘Picturesque’ landscape (an ideal which was part of the 18th Century Romantic Movement), this has been renovated and conserved and won an award for the Restoration of a Georgian Landscape in 2007.
  • If you enjoy walking this is a joy. The estate contains a number of laid-out paths which you can walk alone or with a guide.  There are waterfalls, a narrow suspension bridge over a gorge, an obelisk built in 1805, narrow wooded valleys, open parkland, rushing streams and an alpine bridge. Amongst all of these is a huge variety of wildlife.

Aberystwyth

  • Just a 15 minute drive away is the vibrant university town of Aberystwyth.
  • Home to the National Library of Wales where you can visit the Art Centre and Theatre with its year-round programme of events.
  • Aberystwyth nestles between 3 hills and has 2 beaches with a wide, sweeping promenade overlooked by Victorian and Georgian buildings. There is also a pier and harbour as well as castle ruins.
  • A visit to the Ceredigion Museum on the high street is a must!
  • Try a ride on the longest electric cliff railway in Britain climbing to the top of Constitution Hill.  There is a fantastic panoramic view, a 'Camera Obscura' and a café for a little refreshment.

Borth

  • A small seaside village with a long sand and shingle beach, popular with families and surfers alike.
    At the southern end of the beach, you can sometimes see ancient remains of a submerged forest.
    Borth Animalarium is a zoo in miniature - home to a mixture of exotic and unusual animals such as monkeys, wallabies, snakes and crocodiles and also some more domestic animals that visitors are able to pet and feed.


Aberaeron Harbour Town

  • Aberaeron is a Georgian jewel with elegant colour-washed houses surrounding the harbor. There is a range of small, interesting shops, craft centres, pubs and the award winning Harbourmaster' s Restaurant (Good Food Guide and Gold Award, Wales). Visit The Hive on the Quay, famous for its honey ice cream!

Cardigan Bay Marine Heritage Coast

  • Cardigan Bay has its own pod of resident dolphins and taking a boat trip to see them from either Aberaeron or New Quay - as well as seeing lots of other marine and wild life - is a real treat.

Sleeps 20+, in 10 bedrooms - 5 bedrooms on the ground floor, 5 bedrooms on the 1st floor. Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom or shower room. Please refer to the floor plan for layout. Each bedroom is large with Smart TV and ensuite (each providing a walk-in shower, heated towel rail, toilet and washbasin). In addition, each of the 5 largest suite rooms also come with sofa and comfy chairs.Cot provided on request.
