Bluestone holiday cottage Pembrokeshire

Isolated holiday cottage off the beaten track and far from the madding crowd.

In the midst of wild and remote moorland, this pretty traditional stone mountain cottage is in the heart of the Preselis at the end of a half mile track (not suitable for very low slung cars).

The inviting sitting room has warm decor, comfortable furnishings, dual aspect windows, exposed beam and a wood burning stove.

A light, airy and comfortable conservatory enjoys wonderful pastoral views.

Enjoy meal times in the spacious kitchen diner with fully fitted honey coloured pine cupboards, table and country chairs opening out into the conservatory and enjoying lovely rural views.

Newport 61/2 miles away has a range of amenities including bank, post office, library with internet access, supermarket, filling station, chemist, doctor, traditional butchers shop and interesting independent shops.

Summer short breaks are possible at Glan yr Afon. Please phone for availability and price.

Preseli Hills

Tranquillity, silence and solitude is on your doorstep in the magical, mystical Preselis -7,500 acres - wonderful gentle hill walking along ancient routes with breathtaking views.

A cosy welcoming cottage with woodburning stove which has been lovingly renovated and, furnished to residential standards - a comfortable home for holidays in any season of the year.

North Pembrokeshire Attractions

This is Bluestone country and there are Iron and Bronze Age forts, burial mounds, cromlechs, and according to legend even buried treasure, very jealously guarded by 12,000 sheep!

The cottage has a large paddock, an orchard with a tiddler stream spilling into a pond and a garden bordered by a brook - only the sounds of water babbling, the cry of buzzards or red kites high overhead and the bleating of sheep disturb the silence - the stars on clear nights are wondrous to behold!

Dyfed Shires & Leisure Farm

See and pet the horses and foal. See also sheep, pigs, chickens, llamas and donkeys. Watch a shire horse harnessing demonstration and calves being fed. There are rides too - on a tractor, shire horse and cart, land train and a quad bike circuit.Lots to see and do for all the family.

Explore the small coastal village of Newport - 2 lovely beaches, water sports galore, 9 hole links golf course, horse riding, 2 excellent restaurants, cafes, pubs and a range of small specialist shops including a Natural Health Care Dispensary, all within an easy drive of this isolated holiday cottage.

Cenarth Riverside Village with Salmon Leap

Cenarth is a fascinating and picturesque village on the border of Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire. The river Teifi tumbles right through the centre of the village. If you are lucky you might see salmon leaping their way to the spawning grounds further up the river.

National Coracle Centre, Cenarth

Do visit this fascinating museum and workshop dedicated to coracles from all over the world and the tools for building them all set in a 17th C flour mill.

Ramsey Island / Bishops & Clerks, St Brides Bay

Boat trips to the RSPB nature reserve on Ramsey island leave from St Justinians. Home to many sea birds and seals the island is a delight to walk around.

A `Voyage of Discovery' will take you to the Gannet island of Grassholm, past the Bishops and Clerks (lighthouse) - a group of rocks and small islands inhabited by Puffins, with every possibility of seeing not just dolphins but porpoise and occasionally whales too.
