2 Bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 3 adults plus 1 child. Adult folding bed and travel cot on request. Double bedroom with views over river, single bedroom en-suite (power shower, toilet & wash basin)
Bedlinen provided.
Bathroom bath with shower over, wash basin & toilet. All on 1st floor.
Bedlinen & towels provided
Lounge with views over the river, log burning stove, 2 x 2 seater sofas and 1 armchair. Digital flat screen tv/dvd, radio/ cd, i-pod dock.
Dining room with French doors leading to a small balcony (care with children please) with chairs and table overlooking the river and enclosed patio with table and chairs.
Kitchen well equipped fitted kitchen with electric oven & hob, microwave, dishwasher, larder fridge, freezer, washer/dryer. Breakfast bar with 2 stools overlooking River.

Fuel oil central heating and starter pack of logs for wood-burning stove inclusive May – September, £20 per week outside these dates.

About this cottage:
- Overlooking the Ysgir Fawr, a tributary of the mighty Usk, this delightful cottage in the hamlet of Pont-Faen has been recently renovated
- Furnished throughout with an eclectic mix of antique and modern furniture, luxurious fabrics and oriental rugs.
- Warm and welcoming all year round, the cottage provides an ideal base from which to explore and truly appreciate this untouched area of mid Wales.
- Watch herons fishing, salmon leaping in September and Red Kites wheeling in the skies above from the small balcony of this delightful little holiday cottage by the river.
- The busy historic Cathedral town of Brecon 5 miles away is an ideal place to stock up on provisions, visit the bank & post office, fill your car with fuel and browse the individually owned interesting shops along the Georgian and Jacobean narrow streets and passage ways. Markets are held every Tuesday and Friday.
- Walk directly from your door through pretty woods, along river banks and onto open hillsides with spectacular views of the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains beyond.
- Enjoy cycling along the towpath of the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal - lovely scenery and flat cycling terrain!
- Nearby Brecon is host to the world famous annual Jazz Festival. There are also two excellent golf courses in Brecon, a leisure centre, cinema, superb restaurants and pubs offering very good locally sourced food, a Heritage Centre, Cathedral and a ruined castle.
- The Black Mountains Activity Centre near Brecon offers a wide range of exciting adventure activities from archery to white water rafting and is open 12 months of the year.
- Over 100 red kites and buzzards are fed daily giving a spectacular aerial display. The purpose built hide facilitates such a close view that binoculars are not necessary but do remember your camera. Feeding time in summer is at 3pm (BST) and in winter at 2 pm (GMT). Park by The Red Kite Cafe & Gift Shop.
- Brecknock Museum and Art Gallery is one of the finest and liveliest small museums in Wales. Housed in a beautiful historic building it offers fascinating glimpses into the past. The exhibition programme is on going, varied and exciting with much work by contemporary artists living and working in Wales.
- Seasonal and local ingredients (& from own organic kitchen garden) are used to create delicious simple unfussy food at this award winning traditional Felinfach Inn.
- The early 19th C horse drawn tramway from Tal y Bont to Usk to Trefil is a pleasant and easy 8 mile walkway also used by horse riders.
- Outstandingly beautiful Ffrwdgrech Garden has a cascading stream and waterfall garden created in1830. Don't let the tongue twisting name put you off.
- Brecon Golf Club is a flat 9 hole parkland course with some challenging and unusual holes. Visitors are welcomed every day of the week. Refreshments are available at the club house.
- This small busy market town on the border between England and Wales is well worth a visit at any time. A traditional Thursday market is held in Memorial Square. There is a range of restaurants, shops, crafts and book shops for which the town is famous, 30 at the last count and an annual Literary Festival.
- Keen fisher folk can stock up on all their fishing equipment and accessories at the largest tackle discount warehouse in the UK. There is also an area to practice casting.
