About this cottage:
- Bungalow on organic farmland with superb panoramic sea and hill views almost ‘ on top of the world’ overlooking Fishguard Bay and towards the Preseli Hills in the distance.
- The spacious lounge dining room is warmed by a wood burning stove in the brick built fireplace. Comfortable upholstered sofa and chairs with colourful cushions and floor rug invite you to put up your feet with a book from a generous collection in the tall pine book shelf.
- The delightful conservatory with fabulous views can be accessed via doors from the lounge diner.
- A tranquil setting in wonderful walking country, rich in wildlife and prehistoric antiquities. This simply appointed and furnished home for holidays takes its name from a Neolithic burial chamber beyond the garden.
- Short breaks are possible at Ty Cromlech. Please phone for availability.
- The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is within walking distance and the owners’ family working farm is a few hundred yards away - dedicated conservationists, organic farmers, nature lovers and gardeners - in the interests of safety children may not enter farm buildings and livestock enclosures however guided farm walks can be arranged.
- Fishguard 2 miles away has a range of amenities including bank, post office, internet cafe, supermarket, filling station, chemist, doctor, vet and interesting independent shops. A Farmer's Market is held every Saturday morning in the town hall - excellent local produce.
- Parrog beach at Goodwick is an easily accessible stretch of sand and shingle and is great for sailing and all watersports also an Ocean Lab with cyber café and Tourist Information Centre.
- Goodwick village 1 mile away has a couple of pubs and various eating places including a fish and chip shop and the Glendower Hotel which has a superb classic carvery, the Farmhouse Kitchen restaurant, several small shops, a post office, chemist and doctor.
- Visit the Ocean Lab in Goodwick. Learn about creatures living in the sea and how they adapt to changing environmments. There are hands on displays and activities, a cafe and gift shop making it fun for the whole family.
- Celtic Diving in Goodwick offer dive training, and exciting experiences for qualified divers such as wrecks, drifts, reefs, stunning scenery and wildlife.
- Do visit the Fishguard Bay Hotel which has an almost totally unspoilt decor dating from the arrival of the Great Western Railway in 1907 – good bar snacks and glorious views across the harbour - a daily ferry service to Ireland sails from here.
- Ferries sail daily from Fishguard harbour to Rosslare in Ireland. Day trips are available. Travel as a foot passenger and take advantage of the bus and coach services waiting at Rosslare harbour or take your own car.
- The Ivybridge Spa is a world of relaxing spa treatments and revitalising luxury. Half and full day packages are available.
- Llys y Fran park offers interests for all the family - walking, cycling, fishing, rowing, picnicing or just enjoying the countryside.
- Celtic Quest Coasteering - an exhilerating way to explore the Pembrokeshire coastline, adventure swimming, rock hopping, plunging into the water from high rocks.
- Keen fisher folk will enjoy fishing from the rocks at Strumble Head. Float tackle yields mackeral sometimes sharks follow also congers, huss, pollack & wrasse.
- The river Nevern enters the sea at Newport making a small sandy estuary ideal for bird watching.
- Ornithologists use a shelter on Strumble Head to follow migratory patterns during spring and autumn. It is also ideal for spotting porpoise,dolphins and seals.
- Lots to see and do near this holiday bungalow with sheltered garden, superb panoramic sea and hill views in a quiet location along a farm lane above Fishguard. Do explore the Gwaun Valley and up into the Preseli Hills section of the Pembrokeshire National Park.
