About this cottage:
- North Pembrokeshire cottage between St Davids and Fishguard sandy beaches - one of a pair of stone cottages close to Trefin and Abereiddi Beach.
- Set in a small courtyard well back off the road in the hamlet of Square & Compass, just inland from the North Pembrokeshire coast,
- The cottage has an attractive and spacious lounge/dining room with much stone and pine and a feature stone fireplace wall open to cruck roofed ceiling.
- Pleasant south facing, large sheltered, grassed rear garden overlooking sheep paddocks and the neighbouring farm.
- Summer short breaks are available at Torbant Fach if booked two weeks before holiday. Please phone for price and availability.
- Filling Station and mini market, recently refurbished, is well stocked with groceries, local produce, bakery goods, excellent locally made cakes, newspapers, beach goods, gifts and more. St Davids 7 miles away has a range of amenities including bank, post office, internet cafe, supermarket, chemist, vet, doctor, filling station and interesting independent shops.
- This North Pembrokeshire cottage is in an area with magnificent coastal scenery and wonderful cliff top walking along the National Park Coastal Path. The Farmers Arms Mathry is a delightful village pub serving good food and across the road is a craft and gift shop.
- Several small sandy coves and beaches are within a short drive and there are fast (or slow) boat trips from St Davids and Porthgain.
- St Davids with its medieval Cathedral and ruined Bishops' Palace is sure to please - small, intimate shops, art galleries, restaurants and Fishguard, a small busy market town with the Irish Sea Ferry Terminal at Goodwick is also within easy reach.
- For a closer look at the best historic and prehistoric sites in Pembrokeshire arrange an Archaeotour around Nevern & Pentre Ifan, Strumble Head or the Preseli hills. The tour will include the services of an archaeologist guide, transport and refreshments. 07890 155538
- The oldest working woollen mill in Pembrokeshire specialising in woven floor rugs and carpets. Visited by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall who admired the newly restored water wheel. The mill is open all year and visitors can see the loom in action.
- Keen fisher folk might enjoy a days fishing at Yet y Gors Trout Lakes, Manorowen near Fishguard. The lakes are stocked with fish upwards of 2lbs. Hire a rod and buy tackle on site. Hot & cold snacks are available too.
- Try this unique way of exploring the beautiful rugged coastline. Coasteering involves exhilerating adventure swimming, rock hopping and more. An experience you will never forget.
- Boats leave St Justinians to visit Ramsey Island home to characteristic sea birds auks, kittiwakes, shearwaters, peregrines, choughs and more. Remember your binoculars and camera.
- This pleasant 7 mile walk can be extended by 2 miles by climbing up Cairn Ingli for one of the best coastal views in the UK.. At the end of the walk hail a dedicated walkers bus to return you to your starting point.
- Experience the thrill of riding the waves. Surfing lessons for beginners and improvers by qualified instructors from Newsurf located at the northern end of Newgales Blue Flag awarded golden sands.
