  • With fabulous sweeping views overlooking the beach & Royal St Davids Golf Course these unique coastal holiday homes were built in 1904 by an army Colonel who had spent time in South Africa during the Boer War and their design reflects the architecture of the Boers with Dutch gables and a red tiled roof.
  • These magnificent Harlech coastal holiday homes once belonged to the benevolant Cadbury Quaker family, the famous chocolate manufacturers.
  • The interiors are reminiscent of the sumptuousness of the Edwardian period with a wealth of antique furniture balanced by stylish fabrics in curtains, bedding and walls covered in the owner's and her family's art work.

  • There are some 8 acres of grounds to enjoy. Garden enthusiasts may find them of particular interest - a perfect garden in which to relax either by dining al fresco on the terrace or sitting out on the decking area and lawns.
  • Children and adults alike will love to wander and discover secret little lawns and footpaths of these Harlech holiday homes and there is a bowling green and pavilion which holiday guests are encouraged to use and a children's play area.
  • This is also a working garden with orchards, vegetable garden and beehives.
  • There is private access down towards Harlech beach (plenty of steps but well worth it).
Occasional meals & Housekeeping offered at this Harlech holiday homes
  • The owners, who live at the back of the properties, are prepared to cook the occasional dinner should guests require it and to offer a certain amount of housekeeping services with linen and towel changes and cleaning provided on Tuesdays. They can also help arrange various activities such as mountain bike hire, book tee off time, find active adventure packages, provide local maps and arrange walks of particular interests, including conducted local garden tours.

  • A short drive away is Portmeirion designed by Sir Clough-Williams Ellis, the Ffestiniog narrow gauge railway and the whole of Snowdonia to explore. Nearby is Theatr Ardudwy a modern theatre which offers a varied programme of plays, music, dance and the latest films. The foyer and bar area often exhibit paintings or photographic work, a pleasant way to browse with pre theatre drinks!
Welsh Highland Railway
  • The Welsh Highland Railway runs along a spectacularly scenic route from Caernarfon to the flanks of Snowdon climbing over 650' before zigzagging dramatically to the village of Beddgelert and the magnificent Aberglaslyn Pass.
Precipice Walk & Barmouth Seaside Town
  • The 3 mile precipice walk is suitable for families. It takes about one and a half hours and offers stunning views of the Mawddach estaury and Snowdonia.
  • Do visit the picturesque resort of Barmouth with soft golden sands surrounded by Snowdonia National Park.
Salem Chapel, Cefncymerau near Llanbedr
  • Salem Chapel and attached caretakers cottage is now a Cadw Grade II listed building. The chapel was made famous by artist Sydney Curnow Vosper (1866 -1942) who painted an old lady Sian Owen in a stove pipe hat and Welsh costume attending the chapel. A copy of the painting hangs in the chapel. The original hangs in the Lady Lever Art Gallery, Liverpool.

Kitchen well equipped fully fitted kitchen with cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer.

Sitting Room Edwardian brick fireplace with open fire and electric fire, 2 x 2 seater sofas, 3 wing chairs, 2 armchairs, tv/dvd, occasional tables, Victorian sideboard, 2 wooden chairs, piano.

1 dog welcome FREE. 1 additional dog @ £25 per week

Fuel oil central heating inclusive May-September, £50 per week outside these dates.
