Accommodation Details:
2 Bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 4 plus travel cot, 1 twin on the ground floor and 1 double in a galleried ‘crog’ loft with sloping ceilings reached via a narrow spiral staircase (with stairgate) from the lounge.
Bedlinen provided. Towels @ £5 per person
Bathroom on ground floor with toilet, washbasin, bath with shower over and recessed lighting.
Lounge/Dining Room traditional high beamed ceiling with exposed timbers, feature stone fireplace with log burning stove, colour washed stone walls, comfortable seating, 28” tv/video/dvd, music system, well stocked bookcase. Children’s games, plus highchair. Stable doors to garden and courtyard.
Kitchen country style with fitted units, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine. Tumble dryer in outhouse.
Grounds private rear, enclosed sheltered garden with patio and garden furniture – views across to Preseli Hills. Front courtyard and entrance shared with owners. NB: There are the ruins of a traditional stone Welsh longhouse in the front courtyard, care with children please. Attached lockable outhouse for bikes, wetsuits etc.
Fuel oil central heating, electricity and gas inclusive May to Sept. Including a starter basket of logs(winter only Sept-May) £25 per week outside these dates.

About this cottage:
- Holiday cottage near Strumble Head - pretty, full of charm and character with high beamed ceilings, exposed timbers and wooden floors - restored with lots of tender loving care and attention to detail with chocolate box prettiness.
- Warm, cosy and comfortably furnished with a log-burning stove in the lounge - ideal for a holiday at any time of the year. The sheltered rear garden is great for barbecues or just to relax in and enjoy the peace, tranquillity, solitude and pure sea air of this special corner of Pembrokeshire.
- Fishguard close by has a good range of local amenities including interesting independent shops, supermarket, bank, post office, internet cafe, chemist, health centre, filling station and a weekly farmers market selling excellent local produce on saturdays from 9 til 1.
- All year round short breaks are available at Trefechan Wen. Please phone for availability and price.
- Wonderful walking and cycling country with cliff top walks along the magnificent coastal scenery of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path just a mile away.
- The Strumble Shuttle (National Park bus service) stop is a 5 minute walk - a daily bus service which wends its way along the coast and through myriad country lanes from Newport in the north to St Davids in the west - explore all the surrounding coves, harbours and inland villages without the need to take your car!
- Try horse riding from the stables that are within walking distance, trek through some of Pembrokeshire's most spectacular scenery or watersports, boat trips and sailing from the easily accessible Parrog Beach at Goodwick (complete with Ocean Lab and cyber café).
- Day trip to Ireland on the high speed Lynx which sails from Fishguard Harbour.
- Fishguard, a small, bustling market town and Goodwick village have a wide choice of eating places , pubs, coffee shops, craft/art galleries and small interesting shops all only a short drive away from this Welsh holiday cottage near Strumble Head on Fishguard Bay.
- When in Fishguard do drop in and browse the fine contemporary and applied art exhibits and the quality crafts at the West Wales Arts Centre. Enjoy some refreshments in Cafe Celf and look out for one of the occasional musical recitals held there.
- Dyfed Shires & Leisure Farm is home to the famous Dyfed Shire Horses. See Jim Reynolds Welsh Champion horse ploughman giving ploughing and harrowing demonstrations. There are lots of fun activities for all the family. A fascinating day out.
- The River Nevern is a mixed game fishery with sea trout (sewin) from May to early September and brown trout all year. The Nevern AA controls 6 miles of some of the best fishing. Buy your tickets and a pint at the Trewern Arms at Nevern and Y Siop Llyfrau Newport.
- Enjoy a meal at any time of day, breakfast, lunch or dinner in the characterful Sloop Inn in the seaside village of Porthgain.
- Tir a Mor (land & sea) Photographic in Fishguard has an extensive range of digital cameras, memory cards, binoculars, spotting scopes and OS maps.
- Keen fit walkers might enjoy this tough 14 mile walk in wild surroundings with wonderful coastal views. Cemaes Head is a good place to spot seal pups. Hail a dedicated walkers bus to take you back to your start.
