Cottage near Solva in a Site of Special Scientific Interest

Surrounded by 11 acres of rolling farmland, (part SSSI) teeming with wildlife - badgers, barn owls, sparrow hawks, buzzards and migrating birds on the pond. Remember your binoculars. From Spring until October Welsh ponies graze one of the last remaining true moorlands (most have been taking over for farming).Given the remote location it is possible to see wonderful unpolluted views of the Miky Way in the night sky.

Set at the end of a long private drive the farmhouse has been restored beautifully and furnished throughout to the highest residential standards.

Children (grown-ups too!) will love the snug loft ‘ den’ which has a low, sloping ceiling, thick woollen carpet, lots of soft scatter cushions, bean bags, games, books, tv/dvd and cd/radio and the cosy sitting room has the original inglenook with a wood burning stove.

Solva has an excellent village shop, post office & off licence (Bay View Store) selling papers, groceries and angling supplies.

Short breaks are possible at Ffynnon Dewi. Please phone for availability and prices.

Solva/North Pembrokshire

Solva, a short drive away, is a pretty harbour village with an ambience all its own - excellent restaurants serving local fish, several pubs and interesting shops - learn to sail from the harbour, walk around the Gribin Ridge to the secluded Gwadn Beach or try surfing (and kite flying) at the renowned Newgale Beach - 3 miles of sweeping, golden sands.

Village City of St Davids

St Davids is the smallest city in Britain and there are a variety of eating places to enjoy, gift shops and art galleries to browse as well as the magnificent medieval Cathedral.

Take a boat trip from St Davids or Solva around the beautiful offshore islands, havens for bird and marine life.

Priskilly Forest Golf Course

A challenging 9 hole course set in mature parkland with panoramic views. After your game do drive on to Letterston and have a meal at the award winning licensed fish and chips restaurant 'Something's Cooking'.

Nolton Haven a short coastal drive from holiday cottage in St Davids

This a tiny seaside village with a 200 year old stone chapel clinging nail bitingly close to the edge of the cliff, a village pub selling bar food and East Nolton Riding Stables who offer thrilling rides across the beach as well as trekking in the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside.

A pottery which produces a unique series of individually crafted, high quality vessels and sculptured items. Do call in and have a look. You may find something special to remind you of your visit.

Shore fishing from the rocks & beaches around St Davids is arguably some of the best in Britain. Try your luck.

Walk from Strumble to Pwllgwaelod

Keen fit walkers with an interest in history might enjoy the challenge of this 13 mile walk which could be named the Last Invasion Trail since this is where the last invasion took place. French soldiers were repelled by local women in Welsh costume mistaken for soldiers.
