About this cottage:

• Whitesands Beach and St Davids village city are both within a short drive of this striking and unique house which stands on the edge of the ancient Dowrog Common, an SSSI.
• There are sweeping panoramic views across the Common towards the rocky outcrops of Penberi and Carn Llidi above Whitesands – the artist Graham Sutherland’s favourite view.
• Set back from the Fishguard to St Davids road and designed just after the 2nd World War by one of the last practising architects of the Arts & Craft movement, the house has been completely re-furbished and renovated to preserve its distinctive heritage.
• The spacious sitting room designed in the style of a medieval hall has a slate floor, splendid high beamed ceiling, large log burning stove and elm wall panelling decorated with carved wooden figures on a former ‘minstrel’s gallery’.
• The ‘parlour’ in the old part of the house is cosy and comfortable with a large stone fireplace and low beamed ceiling.

• Whitesands fabulous Blue Flag Beach, popular with surfers, sand castle builders, kite flyers and sun worshippers is within a 5 minute drive.
• The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path (40 years old this year) with its cliffs carpeted with wild flowers and alive with colonies of sea birds in early summer is a walkers, photographers and naturalists delight.

• An exciting boat trip on the ‘Venture Jet’ will take you out to sea on a thrilling ride to catch glimpses of seals, porpoises and fascinating bird life.
• A day out on Ramsey Island via a more sedate boat trip on Voyages of Discovery gives an insight into life for birds, people and animals on a rugged offshore island.

• St Davids is the United Kingdom’s smallest city and has a variety of interesting shops, places to eat and a newly opened award winning gallery exhibiting local artists.
