Sitting Room with 3 piece suite, tv/dvd, radio/c.d. Large inglenook feature fireplace (not in use) and views over rolling countryside.

Kitchen/Diner fitted kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge with ice box, dishwasher, washing machine, table and chairs seating 6, and stable door to exterior steps.

Fuel oil central heating inclusive May – September £10 per week outside these dates.

Grounds unenclosed garden with unenclosed pond - care with small children please. Garden furniture and views across the valley.

Rural holiday cottage

  • A comfortable cottage, converted from a barn, set off the tourist trail in a small remote valley in the beautiful rolling Carmarthenshire countryside.
  • There are lovely views from the sitting room with its large, feature stone fireplace (not in use) over the valley towards the small village of Caio.
  • The owners are Welsh Cob breeders.
  • The Brunant Arms in Caio, 2 miles away, serves a selection of real ales and good freshly prepared homemade food. Popuar with locals and visitors alike. The village of Pumsaint, 2 miles away, has a garage with a small shop.
  • An ideal base for those seeking tranquillity and freedom. Prince Charles too has bought a Welsh retreat in this area between Llandovery and Myddfai

  • Red Kites soar over remote Welsh holiday cottage

  • Red Kites wheel overhead, buzzards soar on the thermals. Do visit Llandeusant Red Kite Feeding Station where you can watch over 100 kites and buzzards being fed. It is a truly spectacular display.
  • The Royal Welsh Agricultural Show, Llanelwedd, Builth Wells

  • You certainly do not need to be a farmer to enjoy a fabulous day out at the wonderful, colourful, noisy and entertaining 'Royal Welsh'. A huge dedicated area of field, pavilions and exhibition halls will be packed with things to see and do including animals, sheep shearing, food, children's entertainment, National Countryside Conservation & Forestry exhibitions and so much more.
  • Dolaucothi Roman Gold Mines (N.T.)

  • Caio Church is reputedly the site of the barracks which housed the Roman slaves who mined for gold at the Dolaucothi Gold Mines (N.T.) ­- guided tours from the end of May to beginning September.
  • Llandovery (Church among the Waters), Market Town

  • The pretty little market town of Llandovery 7 miles away is steeped in history. It is dominated by the ruined castle once a formidable fortress overlooking the river Towy. Stock up on groceries and essentials here. There are supermarkets, individually owned interesting shops, banks, delicatessen, ironmongers, a tourist information centre and much more.
  • Llandeilo Market Town

  • A delightful small country town full of Victorian and Georgian charm with interesting shops and a good choice of places to eat and drink.
  • Dinefwr Castle, Newton House National Trust

  • Do explore historic National Trust Dinefwr Castle overlooking the Tywi river, visit the stately home Newton House and walk in the extensive park where an ancient breed of white cattle roam.
  • Lampeter University & Market Town & National Quilt Centre

  • This charming university and market town in the beautiful Teifi valley has served the farming community since Medieval times. It is host to regular cattle markets, antique auctions, an annual food festival and home to the National Welsh Quilt Centre. There is a variety of places to eat and drink.
  • There are cafes, pubs, galleries and crafts, enjoyable walks and wonderful scenery to enjoy.
  • Look out for the statue of Llywelyn ap Gruffydd, a Welsh hero who helped in the rebellion of 1400 against the English.

  • Enjoy quality Welsh cuisine at the traditional oak beamed Kings Head Inn in the heart of Llandovery. Tea, coffee & cakes, lunch and dinner are served daily.

  • The secret lake in the heart of the Black Mountains is the source of the legend which tells of a beautiful woman emerging from the lake to marry a local farmer. The lake is stunningly blue when the sun shines and a delightful spot from where to enjoy superb mountain scenery.
