Celebrate the life and work of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas at the Dylan Thomas Centre in Swansea during November
An exciting two week festival with talks, special guests and workshops all designed to celebrate literature, the arts and in particular the life and work of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. The festival is held in the Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea where there is a permanent exhibition dedicated to the poet. A number of Dylan Thomas trails meander through Dylan's 'lovely ugly town' of Swansea now a proud city or maybe you should 'begin at the beginning' in Uplands where he was born and brought up. Mumbles and Gower 'one of the loveliest sea-coast stretches in the whole of Britain’, played an important role in Dylan's life as did the coastal villages of Laugharne where he wrote Under Milk Wood and New Quay, Ceredigion where some believe he found his inspiration for the characters and places in his famous tale.
