  • Cottage on Mawddach Estuary, near Dolgellau - the magnificent Mawddach Estuary is truly one of the most beautiful parts of Wales and this former stable set in the lovely grounds of Glyn Malden, a charming 18th century manor house, has recently been converted into a comfortable home for holidays.
  • Comfortably furnished the lounge/dining room with wooden floor has a handsome period mirrored sideboard and table and chairs for 6
  • The fully fitted modern kitchen has been sympathetically designed to reveal the original open hearth with solid wood mantle.
  • Fully enclosed garden safe for children and dogs has an adjoining field for older children and grown ups to play in.

  • Fairbourne and Barmouth are the two nearest beaches and a few miles north of Barmouth there is a 6 mile stretch of golden sands at Dyffryn Ardudwy.

A weekly country market is held on Thursdays from 9.15 - 11.45 in the Free Library. A Farmers Market selling excellent local produce is held every third Sunday from 10 til 2 in Eldon Square.

  • The Mawddach Estuary, with its steep wooded hillsides rising sharply from the Estuary, was a great favourite with the poets and painters of the Romantic Movement - much praised by Wordsworth and dramatically painted by Turner.

  • The family friendly 3 mile Precipice Walk takes about one and a half hours and offers stunning views of the Mawddach estuary and Snowdonia.
  • A cycle path and footpath, half a mile away from the cottage, winds its way along the whole length of the Estuary, which is rich in bird and wildlife, from Dolgellau to Barmouth.

  • Leave your car behind and fill your lungs with fresh sweet air. Dolgellau Cycles hire centre is ideally placed for the Mawddach trail and network of quiet lanes in the surrounding area. Full or half day hire includes helmet.

  • Keen cyclists will enjoy the 22 mile circular route through the back roads of Dolgellau and Barmouth.
