  • During the construction of the Great Western Railway by Isambard Kingdom Brunel the cottage was one of the offices, now refurbished and furnished to a high residential standard.
  • Neyland has 2 supermarkets, one with a post office and cash dispensing facilities, a traditional family run butchers shop, chemist and a filling station with an ATM (charges apply).

  • Do visit the waterside village of Burton. The public jetty is a perfect place for crabbibng and the family friendly Jolly Sailor serves good value pub food on rolling lawns beside the water and in the conservatory.
  • Pembroke Castle

  • A magnificent stronghold on the banks of the Cleddau Estuary. Privately owned, very well maintained and open to the public it makes a lovely spot for exploration and family picnics. Exciting events are held in the grounds throughout the summer season including historical reinactments, music festivals and falconry displays.
  • Tenby & Beaches

  • Elegant colour washed Victorian & Georgian buildings, medieval town walls & castle , now a museum, narrow winding streets full of hustle bustle, shops, cafes, restaurants and bars and 5 magnificent sandy beaches make Tenby a very popular town to visit.
  • Caldey Island Boat Trips

  • Buy your tickets for Caldey Island at the kiosk on the slipway of Tenby Harbour. Enjoy the boat ride and look out for marine wild life en route. The island has been home to Cistercian monks for a thousand years. They farm the land, produce perfume, chocolate and shortbread all of which are for sale in the islands shop. Stroll the beautiful countryside, relax on one of the lovely sandy beaches and do visit the Grade II listed abbey.
  • Bosherston Lily Ponds (NT), Olde Worlde Teashop & St Govans Inn

  • Stroll along this delightful trail past the scenic lily ponds and onto beautiful Broad Haven South beach. Before leaving do enjoy a real old fashioned tea with Auntie Vi MBE in Bosherston's Olde Worlde Teashop or good pub food and award winning ales in the St Govans Inn.
  • Freshwater East Beach

  • The magnificent golden sands of Freshwater East with crashing surf, sand dunes and sea cliffs was the location for the filming of Harry Potter and the battle scene for Robin Hood.
  • Flying Boat Centre, Pembroke Dock

  • The centre is dedicated to raising the world's only Mark 1 Sunderland which currently lies on the sea bed of Milford Haven Waterway. Volunteers man the centre which exhibits, photos, uniforms, artefacts, displays and interactive items for children to enjoy.
  • Carew, Castle & Tidal Mill

  • Take a stroll around the fascinating historic village of Carew with its magnificent medieval castle, ancient Celtic cross, restored tidal mill and family friendly Carew Inn serving good home cooked food and real ales.
  • Narberth Market Town

  • Shopaholics will love Narberth, well worth the half hour drive. A vibrant old market town full of interesting and unusual shops, antiques, crafts, cafes, bars and restaurants. Ultra Comedia is a deli specialising in Welsh & Spanish produce where you can enjoy coffee, cakes, delicious tapas too.
  • St Brides Bay Beaches

  • Just a short drive away from Brunels Cottage is St Brides Bay with its lovely sandy beaches and coves.
  • Do visit picturesque Little Haven, the broad flat sands of Broad Haven, Druidston Haven, popular with horse riders a magnificent sight, 2 miles of golden beach perfect for surfing at Newgale all connected by road and the coastal path.
  • Dale Peninsula

  • Magnificent coastal walking with spectacular views of the Milford Haven Waterway and the Irish sea. Wild flowers and wildlife abound. Watch ships entering and leaving the haven, walk around old St Ann's Head lighthouse, beach comb on West Dale and enjoy refreshments in the Griffin Inn at Dale.
  • Boat Trips to the Bird Islands

  • Trip boats leave from Martins Haven to visit the off shore bird islands of Skomer and Skolkholm. You will almost certainly see seals and dolphins too. Remember your camera and binoculars.
