Customer Reviews

Thank you for a relaxing and comfortable break. We were blessed with gorgeous weather for our stay and spent every day on the beach. Musts: Walk across the Barmouth Bridge from The Mawddach trail, enjoy a pint in the George the Third, visit Coed y Brenin Forest Centre, Lakes beneath Cader Idris for a picnic, Have a Honey Bun from the bakery. The best beaches for kids- Faribourne (far-end away from shop), Talybont, Harlech, Llanbedr (Victoria Inn serves great food).

The Messengers

Thanks for the lovely welcome the fruit loaf and welsh cakes were lovely. The cottage is great had everything we needed and more. We all enjoyed the field especially the dogs. The location is perfect for day trips. We explored locally as well as further afield. All in all a fantastic time, will certainly be back .Thank you again

The Allens

Thank you- we had a lovely break. The weather was great for us- not too hot and we went for some lovely walks with the dog. It was a real treat to have a pub in walking distance. The list of things we didnt do is long enough to tempt us back.

The Stewarts

Once again we have had a wonderful holiday at one of Liz's properties - this being our second this year but our first at Gotras it is very comfortable for us and our two active grandsons and we will certainly be here again. Our favourite trips were: Aberdyfi beach and town, Barmouth, the boys loved Drive through Tal-y-Llyn valley and Dolgeoch falls, Harlech Castle, Coed y Brenin forest (cafe is good there too), and of course Mawddach walks. We would recommend Llechwedd Slate Mines on a wet day - fantastic, very interesting. Thanks to Liz for a warm welcome as usual. Next time we will use the lovely garden more but this cottage is so well placed there is so much to do whether you want to go north or south.

Edges Family

Stayed at Gotras during the hottest week of the year. Spacious and well equipped, it had everything we needed. For goodies the Farmers Market on the 3rd Sunday is not to be missed in Dolgellau. There were specialists in goat & sheeps milk cheeses, fruit & veg, meat and several others. The staff in the Information Bureau were very helpful with details of walks and sell the 125,000 OS maps needed to really explore this fantastic area.
