About this cottage:
- A Victorian villa which has been recently refurbished, decorated and furnished to the highest residential standards.
- Lots of the original features have been retained – tiled floors, Victorian fireplaces, cornices etc – and the modern, comfortable furniture and a luxury fitted kitchen make this a pleasing blend of old and new.
- Rooms are spacious, light and airy.
- The dining room suite has elegant leather chairs to seat 10 around a rectangular table with views through the beautiful bay window.
- The garden, on several levels, is bounded by a stream – the ‘Saith’ - which tumbles over the cliffs onto Tresaith’s sheltered, sandy beach. The newly created Cardigan Heritage Coastal Walk runs past the end of the rear garden as it wends is way up to the clifftops.
- Tresaith beach with its slipway is ideal for sailors, surfers, swimmers and rock poolers! There is a small café and The Ship Inn - a fabulous spot for al-fresco dining and watching the sunsets over the bay.
- Spot the resident Bottlenose Dolphins, walk barefoot at low tide to Penbryn Beach, (N.T.) once very popular with smugglers, or take a cliff top walk along the Coastal Path
- Aberporth, a busy seaside village with 2 beaches, shops, pubs and restaurants and secluded Mwnt Cove (N.T.) are both a short drive away from this holiday home - 3 minutes walk from Tresaith Beach
- Do visit Cardigan, the bustling county town which has a high street lined with Georgian shops, restaurants, supermarkets, theatre and cinema.
- The village of Cenarth is well worth a visit. The beautiful river and waterfalls tumble through the centre passing under an ancient multi arched (most photogenic) stone bridge. There is an attractive riverside walk, a few interesting shops, places to eat and the National Coracle Centre is located here.
- Enjoy a delicious freshly cooked traditional fish meal in this cosy licensed cafe in St Dogmaels. The thrifty 'Cardi' professional families are known to entertain their friends here.
- Rhydlewis Trout Fishery has a 3 acre well stocked lake . You can have your catch smoked and sliced on the premises.
- Do stroll along the Dylan Thomas Trail in New Quay. The easy 3 mile walk takes in Dylan's favourite haunts from when he lived in the pretty seaside village.
- Visit one of the last working water mills in Wales. It produces traditional stoneground wholemeal flour (popular with diabetics for its low GI content) some of which is used to bake the scones and cakes served in the mill's tea shop.
- Cilwendeg Shell House is a delight. An ornamental grotto built in the late 1820's for Morgan Jones the Younger.
- Anyone interested in historical furniture will find this shop fascinating there is a fine collection of primitive Welsh country furniture mostly of 18th C oak.
- The Ceredigion Coastal Path West Wales is famous for its wild beauty and teeming wildlife. It's diverse landscapes include sandy beaches, secluded coves, dunes, rocky outcrops, waterfalls, rugged cliffs and prettty villages. Watch out for seals basking on the foreshore and dolphins & porpoise swimming in the bay.
- There is much to enjoy close to this West Wales holiday home near Tresaith Beach. Do explore the little known sandy coves & harbours and inland eight Teifi valley country market towns will provide much scenic motoring extending into the Cambriam Mountain foothills.
