Laugharne, an ancient borough, once home to pirates and smugglers, is now a bustling pretty seaside village with a bakery, pottery, several small shops, pubs, including Browns (Dylan Thomas’ local).
Excellent restaurants serving local Welsh produce - The Cors, The Portreeve’s and Seaview a former home of Dylan Thomas - a fascinating book shop and antique shop, all within strolling distance.
Dylan’s Walk is a scenic loop heading north from the castle beside the river. Afterwards enjoy refreshments in one of the variety of places to eat and drink in the picturesque village.
Historically Laugharne has been known for its local characters and provided the backdrop for Dylan Thomas’ radio play Under Milk Wood, although the name was changed to Llareggub (spell it backwards!).
