About this cottage:
- A traditional Pembrokeshire stone cottage which has been completely refurbished during 2009.
- Furnished and equipped to the highest residential standards, the new luxury fitted kitchen has tri-fold French doors opening onto an al fresco dining area, there is solar powered under floor heating in most rooms and a cosy sitting room with open log fire.
- Set in the tiny peaceful hamlet of Fachelich a short drive away from St Davids and Solva, this cottage is one of a pair and is ideal for a holiday at any time of the year.
- St Davids has a range of amenities including bank, post office, internet cafe, supermarket, filling station, chemist, doctor, vet and interesting independent shops.
- Last minute short breaks possible. Please phone for availability and price.
- The Pembrokeshire Coast Path is a short stroll away – wonderful cliff top walking and coastal scenery - sandy beaches and sun kissed hidden coves.
- A fast (or slow) boat trip around the bird islands of Ramsey, Skokholm and Grassholm is a truly unique experience.
- Wonderful walking, cycling and dog walking – there is a National Trust Nature Reserve and an SSSI almost on your doorstep – a paradise for birdwatchers, (Skylarks nest in the spring) wild flower lovers and botanists. Highly recommended by ornothologists.
- Nearby are the small village city of St Davids with its medieval Cathedral and the pretty waterside village of Solva both with interesting shops, galleries, restaurants and bars.
- Caerfai Bay is a sheltered sandy cove, with its own cave and Newgale Sands and Whitesands Bay are two of the finest surfing beaches in Pembrokeshire, popular all year round – great for kite flying!
- The St Davids Old Airfield now belongs to the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park and is a SSSI. It is an ideal spot for walking and cycling. (3 miles, generally level, circular traffic free route) Dogs are welcome too. Spring heralds a carpet of wild flowers, singing skylarks, woolly sheep, cows and horses.
- The Yet y Gors lakes are stocked with fish of 2lbs or more up to double figures. Try your luck.
- Enjoy an hour bobbing on the ocean whilst catching mackeral. Delicious freshly caught and cooked on the barbeque.
- Keen fit walkers might enjoy the challenge of this strenuous twelve and a half mile walk. The coastal views are magnificent.
- Choose a watersport from power kiting, kite boarding, wakeboarding, stand up paddle boarding and zapcat power boarding.
- Do visit the the home of Pembrokeshire's County Museum and their award winning visitors centre. Walk through the beautiful grounds and enjoy refreshments in the excellent tearoom.
- A short walk along the coastal path from Whitesands to either of these little coves is well worth the effort. Sandy Porth Seli is strewn with rocks and lots of rock pools to explore. Pebbly Porth Llysci is sheltered and perfect for sun bathing
- make it dangerous for swimming. Unlike Whitesands neither of these beaches have Lifeguards.
- Enjoy a break at any time of the year in this Pembrokeshire self-catering cottage.
