- A secluded picturesque garden is wonderful to relax in, either by the pond or on the old bench beneath the wisteria with delightful unspoilt views down the valley and over the countryside.
- A perfect base for walkers, nature lovers, birdwatchers, cyclists and fisherfolk - there are several coarse and trout fishing lakes within easy reach by car and horse riding is available locally.
Elan Valley and mid Wales
- The Elan Valley, a short drive away, has 80 miles of rights of way including the Elan Valley Trail which follows the route of the old Elan Valley Railway – ideal for walkers, horse riders, cyclists, pushchairs and wheelchairs.

Breathtaking views near Welsh country cottage
- The road through the Valley, with views of the dams, connects with the spectacular old mountain road to Aberystwyth, a truly breathtaking drive and not to be missed.
Bustling Newtown
- Newtown is a bustling market town and has a cinema, sports centre, nightclub, Oriel gallery, various supermarkets and a weekly market (Tuesday) with indoor and outdoor stalls selling a tempting array of fresh fish, meats, breads, fruit and vegetables.
- There is lots to discover in the dramatic, unspoilt countryside which surrounds this Welsh country cottage near the Elan Valley.
Montgomery Market Town & Earthlight Crystals
- Do visit the lovely old market town of Montgomery with its timber framed houses, cobbled streets and a mixture of Georgian and Victorian architecture.There is a choice of things to see and do including a walk up to the 13th C castle now a ruin. Its dominating position and impressive views give a sense of the power it once represented.
- Earthlight Crystals in Llanidloes sell minerals, hand made jewellery and practice crystal healing.
Hafren Forest
- A habitat for wildlife and a tranquil place to walk and picnic.There are several trails including a long walk to the source of the Severn also a number of delightful riverside picnic sites. Start from Llanidloes.
Kerry Hill Stone Circle
- Found between Kerry and Newcastle on the B4368. Park in the car park in the woods. The stones can be seen from the Kerry Ridgeway footpath. (There is no access the fields are full of live stock) There are 9 sandstone slabs or boulders in a 24m circle with a fallen 1.2 m pillar near the centre plus 2 small stones.
Great Oak Cafe & Spice Club Indian Restaurant, Llanidloes
- The Great Oak Cafe serves delicious vegetarian wholefoods cooked fresh each day using local ingredients whenever possible.
- Eat in or take away a deliciouis Indian meal from the Spice Club Indian restaurant located near the Town Hall.
- There is much to enjoy near this holiday cottage near the Elan Valley

3 Bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 6, plus travel cot. 2 doubles and 1 twin. All on 1st floor.
Bedlinen and towels provided.
Bathroom on 1st floor with bath, toilet and wash basin.
Shower Room on 1st floor with shower cubicle, toilet and washbasin.
Kitchen/Diner rustic country style with oil fired Rayburn, electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with ice box, washing machine. Table and chairs to seat 4. Highchair.
Sitting room woodburning stove, 3 seater sofa, armchair, tv/video/dvd, foldaway gateleg table with 4 chairs.
Sun Room/Lounge 2 seater sofa and 2 armchairs, Windsor oak rocking chair, child's rocking horse, large footstool, cd/radio, original Victorian cooking range (not in use), wooden floors and patio doors to garden.
Fuel oil central heating and oil fired Rayburn inclusive May – September, £25 per week outside these dates. Free starter pack of logs. (Additional logs can be purchased from owner.)
Grounds large secluded very attractive garden with pond – take care with children please. Lawns, patio garden furniture and portable barbecue.
