Strumble Head holiday cottage
- Tucked away in the tiny hamlet of Rhos y Caerau the cottage overlooks moorland and a small lake with a backdrop of the iron age hill fort of Garn Fawr and glimpses of the sea beyond.
- Enjoy spectacular sunsets from this gem of a little Pembrokeshire holiday cottage, in a place of great tranquillity to escape to and unwind in, a bird watchers, naturalists and walkers paradise.
- There is a cosy sitting room with a wood-burning stove in an inglenook. French doors open into a sun room with a small balcony with a truly unique view.
- The bright light and airy bedroom has an antique mirrored dressing table, comfortable twin beds and crisp white bed linen.
Strumble Head and North Pembrokeshire
- Fishguard 3 miles away has a range of amenities including bank, post office, internet cafe, supermarket, filling station, chemist, doctor, vet and interesting independent shops. A Farmers Market is held every Saturday morning in the town hall - excellent local produce.
- Goodwick is close by and has several shops, pubs, an excellent restaurant (Farmhouse Kitchen) and the Fishguard Bay Hotel – a tribute to a more gracious era which overlooks the fabulous harbour from where there are daily ferry services to Ireland
Pembrokeshire Coastal Path
- Walk the nearby bridle path to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and rugged Strumble Head with its bird and marine life observatory and Lighthouse - perhaps some of the most magnificent coastal scenery in all of the Path’s 186 miles.
Fishguard & Day Trips to Ireland with Stena Link Ferries
- Fishguard is a small, bustling town with a fortnightly Farmers Market, 2 supermarkets, cinema, leisure centre and several pubs, restaurants and individually owned shops, including an excellent butchers and ‘Jane’s’ - a tea room, wool and handicraft shop to delight all close to Strumble Head holiday cottage.
- Stena Line operates daily ferries from Fishguard to Rosslaire in Ireland. Take your car or travel as a foot passenger and choose any one of a number of buses in the Irish port to explore a little bit of Ireland for the day.
St Davids
- Britain's smallest city with a magnificent medieval Cathedral nestled at its heart. Just a village really with a variety of interesting shops, galleries, crafts and a choice of places to eat and drink. Do take the opportunity to book a memeorable boat trip out to the famous bird islands.
Ramsey Island
- Some of the highest sea cliffs in Wales, home to breeding colonies of sea birds, birth place to hundreds of grey seals on the shores around and a special combination of wild marine flowers and gorse provide habitats for small birds some rare.
The Studio at Penrallt
- Work by Helen Beazley painter and Marc Mordery photographer both strongly influenced by Pembrokeshire wildlife and scenery. Visiting artists also exhibit each month.
Sf Davids Trekking & Llanwnda Riding Stables, Goodwick
- St Davids Trekking will guide you through some of Pembrokeshire's most beautiful landscapes. You may even stop for your horse to drink in the stream beside the Cathedral.
- Llanwnda Stables based in the picturesque coastal village of Goodwick offer rides, hacks and trekks for experienced riders and tuition for beginners. Trekks for mixed abilities can also be arranged.
Ivybridge Spa
- Why not pamper yourselves in a world of relaxing Spa treatments and revitalising luxury at the Ivybridge Spa in Goodwick. Spa Days and packages with a wide range of pampering treatments for men, women & teens.
John Piper's Studio & Cottage
- The late John Piper 1903-1992 used his Pembrokeshire cottage as a retreat and a studio. He made many paintings and prints of local scenes. The cottage is tucked in under the embrace of Garn Fawr.
Walk from Pwll Gwaelod to Newport
- This 7 mile walk can be extended by 2 miles if you climb Cairn Ingli for one of the best views in the UK.
Celtic Diving, Goodwick Parrog
- Celtic Diving is a 5 star PADI dive centre and a BSAC diver training school. They offer Try Dives for novices and can arrange a dive for qualified divers.
