Lleyn Peninsula Holiday House within 10 mins walk of coast
- ‘Ty Hen’ in English means ‘Old House’ but this is a large spacious new house, possibly built on the site of the original ‘old house’.
- Porth Iago, a tiny rocky inlet is 10 minutes walk away.
Lleyn Peninsula Coastal Path
- Close to the tip of the Lleyn Peninsula and the Coastal Path, the house has lots of windows and patio doors with panoramic views of the surrounding coast, sea, fields and hillsides.
Day trips to Ireland from Holyhead Ferry Terminal
- On quiet, clear days Ireland can be glimpsed in the distance and the ghostly beam of the Holyhead lighthouse on the Isle of Anglesey illuminates the night sky.
- Ideal for either large parties or just for a couple with its ground floor bedroom and bathroom, the house is furnished throughout to the highest standards.
- The large lounge has long black leather sofas, dramatic black/cream curtains and glass and pine doors leading to the visually stunning kitchen/dining room.
Lleyn Peninsula
- Aberdaron, at the waters edge, is a pretty white washed, remote village - the last resting place of medieval pilgrims before their hazardous journey to Bardsey Island. Today it has two newly refurbished hotels, a café and tea room and excellent shops selling local meat, fresh bread and groceries.
National Trust Beach Whistling Sands
- Porth Lago is a short walk away and Whistling Sands (N.T. – and the sands do whistle!) is a mile away.
Boat trips to Bardsey
- Sail from Aberdaron as well as cruises to enjoy the magnificent coastline – look out for the shy grey seals that follow the boats!
Shore Fishing at Llanbedrog & Twnti Seafood Restaurant
- Bass, flounder, dogfish and bream can be caught on low tide so don't forget your fishing gear and favourite seafood recipes.
- Twnti Seafood Restaurant in Rhyd y Clafdy is an 18 year old business specialising in fish, local crab and lobsters.
Caernarfon Castle & Hafan Blue Flag Beach
- Architecturally one of the most impressive castles in Wales. Built to echo the walls of Constantinople its great strength remains to this day. Open to the public daily, do visit you will not be disappointed.
- Hafan Blue Flag Beach is a lovely small sandy cove with breathtaking backdrop of Snowdonia.
Circular Walk Abersoch
- Keen walkers will enjoy this moderately challanging walk of five and a half miles which takes about 3 hours. From the town walk onto the beach and continue south for 1 mile, leave the beach via the slipway and follow the coast path as far as Porth Ceiriad. Head inland on marked paths , do not fork left but continue along the lane to Sarn Bach. Walk on through the fields to the Abersoch Llanengan road. Turn right and back to Abersoch. Wonderful coastal views and rural patchwork.
- There are many cottages in Wales Ty Hen is perfect for a holiday on the Lleyn Peninsula within 10 mins walk of the coast.
