Carmarthen

A short drive away (10 miles) is the ancient market and county town with a good range of local amenities including, supermarkets, filling station, chemist, doctor, vet, bank, post office, internet cafe, market, interesting and independent shops as well as chain stores.

Laugharne Castle

For over 20 years Laugharne Castle has undergone painstaking archaeological investigation and restoration. It began life in the 11th C as an earth and timber structure, was built in stone in the 13th & 14th C's and turned into Tudor mansion in the 16th C. The magnificent Georgian and Victorian gardens overlooking the river Taf were an inspration to 2 great modern writers Richard Hughes and Dylan Thomas. Both completed works here.
