- The coach house is in the grounds of a most attractive old farmstead and is only a short walk away, via a footpath, from the village of Llanbedr.
- The historic town of Harlech just 3 miles away with its magnificent castle has a good range of amenities including independent local shops, small supermarket, bank, post office, chemist, filling station, chemist and health centre.
Snowdonia & Lleyn Peninsula
- Walk Cwm Bychan- a magical place - a heavily wooded valley opening out onto rugged hillsides, waterfalls and nature trails and enchanting Cwm Nantcol is clothed with gentle, undulating pastureland and dotted with hill farms.
Llanbedr & Shell Island
- Llanbedr is a small village nearby and has shops, a couple of restaurants and pubs.
- Shell Island famous for its shells, wild flowers and uncrowded sands and Harlech with its beach a stunning backdrop of Harlech Castle, Snowdon and the Lleyn Peninsula are paradise for beach lovers.
Portmeirion
- Wonderful variety of splendid mountain and coastal scenery - the Italianate village of Portmeirion designed by Sir Clough-Williams Ellis, all Snowdonia, mountain railways and numerous beaches are all within an easy drive of this holiday cottage near Harlech.
Fairbourne Railway & Dolgellau Cycles
- Pay once and ride all day on this 1895 railway from Fairbourne to Barmouth.
- Dolgellau Cycles is a repair shop, and bike hire centre. Leave your car behiind and explore the countryside with wind in your hair.
Ffestiniog Railway Porthmadog
- The oldest narrow gauge railway in the world, built in 1836 to transport slate from the mines in Blaenau Ffestiniog. It now carries passengers on a 13 1/2 mile journey from Porthmadog Harbour to Blaenau Ffestiniog climbing to over 700 feet through tranquil pastures, magnificent forests, past lakes and waterfalls round horseshoe bends, clinging to the mountain and tunnelling through it.
Highland Railway Caernarfon
- A spectacular 19 1/2 mile journey from Caernarfon climbing to over 650 feet crossing the flanks of Mount Snowdon before zigzagging dramatically down the steep hillside to reach Beddgelert and the magnificent Aberglaslyn Pass ( voted the most scenic view in the UK by members of the National Trust). The lost link between Caernarfon and Porthmadog is currently being restored and will be completed by 2011.
