Traditional Small Stone Welsh Cottage

Holiday cottage with sea views across Cardigan Bay, the Lleyn Peninsula and Bardsey Island and a 5 minute walk to a quiet sand and pebble beach.

A romantic retreat just for two in an undiscovered part of the Snowdonia National Park, this beautifully and sympathetically restored traditional small stone Welsh cottage boasts thick stone walls, high ceilings, small windows, natural slate floor and antique furniture.

Close to open moorland (ideal walking country) and adjacent to an old drover's road which links Llwyngwril across the hills to the nearby market town of Dolgellau - a lovely drive with 13 gates to open, but well worth the effort, with the ever present Cader Idris (Wales' second highest peak) as a backdrop, passing standing stones, an old gold mining area and the mysteriously beautiful Cregennon lakes.

The lovely sitting room has a low oak Welsh dresser and French windows opening out towards the sea - even during the coldest weather the glow from the cast iron woodburner will enhance the rustic charm and give a cosy, romantic atmosphere.

A timeless and intriguing region - visit the lovely Tal-y-llyn Lake, the atmospheric ruined castle of Castell y Bere home to the last Welsh princes or walk along the estuary of the Mawddach River - the most beautiful estuary in Wales.

Aberdovy is one of Wales' more intimate Victorian resorts, full of holiday charm with a fine harbour.

The small market towns of Dolgellau and Machynlleth are also well worth visiting with interesting small shops, galleries and a variety of pubs and restaurants to try and an easy drive away from this holiday cottage with sea views across Cardigan Bay.

1 Bedroom sleeping a maximum of 2 with double bed and cot available on request..

Bathroom freestanding enamel rolltop bath, toilet and washbasin.
Kitchen handmade bleached pine units, solid fuel Rayburn, split level electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, automatic washing machine Belfast sink, slate worktops, table and chairs seating 4. Fridge/freezer in outhouse.
Bedroom Area (can be closed of by full length thick curtains) 1 double bed, easy chair, chest of drawers, hooks for clothes.
Sitting Room 2 sofas, 2 easy chairs, antique chests, Welsh dresser, high beams, French doors to private road area. NO T.V.
Fuel oil central heating inclusive May to September, £25 per week outside these dates.
Grounds extensive elevated lawn area with garden furniture and barbecue at the back,
but the metalled road outside the property is rarely used and sitting outside the French windows is usual. Parking for 1 car.
Sorry no children other than babies in arms.
