- Lots of original features and characteristics - solid local Welsh oak floors, beamed ceilings and an elegant staircase from the main drawing room.
- Furnished throughout with a wealth of antique oak furniture, oak bedsteads, oil paintings and hand-made rugs.

Newtown & Montgomery Canal
- A pretty old market town since the 1200's and former capital of the woollen industry. Birth place of Robert Owen, social reformer. The town has a variety of interesting shops, museums, a golf course, pleasant walks and a choice of places to eat & drink, a theatre and a cinema.
- The Montgomery Canal wanders from Llangollen 35 miles south towards Newtown. There is a scenic cycle path running along a 2 mile stretch at Newtown alternatively try a leisurely canal boat trip.
Hafren Cycle Centre
- All types of hire bikes for adults and children at Llanidloes including tag alongs, trailors, baby seats and tandoms.
Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway
- Built to link communities to the market town of Welshpool. The train follows steep gradients andf tight curves through delightful countryside full of wildlife. Do step onto the unique train balcony to enjoy the views.
Fishing at Llyn Clywedog &Lake Vyrnwy Hotel Restaurant
- This most scenic lake is stocked with rainbow and brown trout. Boats are available for hire. Boats and fishing permits can be arranged at Davies Newsagents in Llanidloes. Don't forget to pack your fishing gear.
- Lake Vyrnwy Hotel at Llanwddyn has an award winning restaurant serving food with an emphasis on local produce.
Glansevern Gardens
- Do visit Glasevern Hall Gardens built in the Greek revival style 200 years ago on the banks of the River Severn. The garden extends over more than 20 acres with walks leading dowen to the river. Relax in the tea room, stroll through the gallery and browse in the shop. Plants are sold in the walled garden.
