  • Peacefully situated in a very pretty, spacious cottage garden there are lovely views over pastureland to the Black Mountains and Hay on Wye..
  • The Lodge has been very carefully renovated to retain its character with many rustic original features - leaded windows, low ceilings - and is tastefully furnished with lots of antique furniture reflecting the Victorian era.

  • Hay-on-Wye, (10 min walk) famous for its Literary Festival (late May), second hand bookshops, antique shops, art galleries and craft shops, good restaurants and pubs is a fascinating town to explore.
  • The surrounding Wye Valley offers spectacular scenery and a captivating heritage - many castles within an hour's drive including Hay Castle and Abergavenny Castle and museum.
  • The Lodge is an ideal base from which to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Black Mountains, which has one of the country's most popular walking, cycling, hang and paragliding centres.
  • Lots of activities to take pleasure in - walking the Offa's Dyke and Wye Valley footpaths, golf course (15 minutes walk away with a 3 hole junior course - visitors welcome), a new golf club within 100 yds, canoeing in the river Wye valley, trekking and fishing, all near to this Hay on Wye cottage, River Wye Valley.

    2 bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 4 1 double with brass bedstead, 1 twin.

    Dining Room with dining suite to seat 4, Victorian dresser.
    Lounge with wood/coal burning stove, 3 piece cottage suite, tv/video, cd/ radio. Original leaded bay window overlooking garden and fields.
    Fuel starter pack of logs, oil central heating (Rayburn) inclusive May to September, £20 per week outside these dates.
