Traditional Old Farmhouse
Cosy and warm throughout the year, set in rolling countryside on a 10 acre smallholding. An enchanting old farmhouse comfortably furnished in a rustic style with deep sofas and good antique pieces. Enormous inglenook, thick lime washed walls, deep-set windows and a kitchen with low beams, dark blue Rayburn and large pine table (made by the owner) – ideal for long, leisurely dining. A small conservatory off the sitting room overlooks a delightful old fashioned garden with box hedges, a Japanese maple, climbing roses, grapevine, poppies, foxgloves, clematis - a riot of colour - leading to a summerhouse at the bottom of the garden. From the farmhouse there is a lovely walk through beautiful, peaceful countryside - ‘The Pilgrims Way' - past a 12th century church founded by a Welsh Princess and then on to a holy well. Walks through forests, alongside lakes, an archaeological trail and Ty Mawr the oldest pub in Wales, (dating in parts back to the 11th century and recently restored) are all within a short drive.
Welsh Borders
Ruthin has much to offer – medieval St Peter's Square, craft centre, art gallery, excellent eating places and a sinister prison – a big hit with children! Enjoy a delicious Sunday lunch and relax in comfortable lounges in front of a roaring fire in Ruthin Castle. Betws y Coed and the heart of Snowdonia is a 30 minute drive and the lovely beaches at Harlech and Barmouth to the west are an hour's drive away. Llandudno, a delightful Victorian resort and beautiful Bodnant Gardens (not to be missed in the spring) are also within an hour's drive of this enchanting North Wales traditional old farmhouse for holidays.
