The Holiday Cottage near Harlech

Converted barn in a peaceful French style courtyard setting near Harlech in the heart of Snowdonia National Park.

High open beamed ceiling and large stone fireplace with woodburning stove in the sitting room, thick stone walls and views across fields and woodlands from the bedrooms - an ideal cottage in which to unwind in complete privacy.

Set at the entrance to two enchanting valleys, Cwm Bychan, with its tranquil lake leads to the Roman Steps, a Roman paved pack-horse way and from the second Cwm Nantcol, rise the peaks of Rhinog Fawr and Rhinog Fach.

Lots of gentle rambles and woodland walks just above the cottage – the waterfall and nature trail is very special and there are fabulous views from the plateau above the waterfall across to Shell Island, Tremadog Bay and Lleyn Peninsula.

Harlech & Snowdonia

Harlech, dominated by its medieval castle overlooking the sea, is framed by the Rhinog mountains. It’ s long golden sweeping beach has sheltered bathing, and there are steep winding streets with traditional Welsh architecture, good restaurants, pubs and interesting shops to explore. Why not enjoy a night out at Theatre Ardudwy which hosts an impressive programme of films, exhibitions, concerts and plays throughout the year.

For beach lovers there are lots of lovely completely unspoilt beaches to discover including Shell Island (lots of interesting shells to collect) and Llandanwg with its Celtic Church hidden in the dunes.

Golfers will enjoy Harlech’ s Royal St Davids Link Golf Course, for fishermen there is river, stream and lake fishing and the Children’ s Farm Park and Slate Caverns is a working farm where baby animals can be fed and old mine workings to explore.

5 Bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 9, plus cot on request. 2 double bedrooms, 1 with French doors to garden, 1 twin, 1 single, all on ground floor. Plus walk through bedroom with single bed and folding bed.
Bedlinen provided.
Bathroom with full suite and shower over bath.
Shower Room with shower cubicle, washbasin and toilet.
Kitchen fully fitted with electric oven and hob, microwave, larder fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, table and chairs seating 7.
Sitting Room high beamed ceiling, stone fireplace with woodburning stove, 3 piece suite, 2 easy chairs, tv/dvd.
Fuel oil central heating and storage heaters inclusive May – September, £30 per week outside these dates.
Grounds large but not fully enclosed in courtyard, garden furniture. Hidden fenced off ditch at rear of cottage – care with toddlers please.
Ample Parking
Welcome FREE well behaved dog – must be kept on lead at all times, lambs/sheep close by.
