A timeless, tranquil area with lots of beautiful walks along narrow, tree lined lanes and at the bottom of the hill is the delightful ancient church of St Marys.

Benllech has an excellent beach and both the Slipway Café and Sea View Restaurant serve fine food - and after a day on the beach or a walk along the Heritage Coastal Path melt in the mouth scones are a real tea time treat!

Blackpoint Lighthouse, Penmon & Llynnon Mill, Llandeusant

Make the lighthouse, built in 1838, a focus for a walk. In Welsh it is known as Trwyn Du.

Llynnon Mill is the only working windmill in Wales. It is known as the Granary of Wales due to the large quantities of oats and barley once grown there. The mill now operates as a working agricultural museum. It produces stone ground wholemeal organic flour.

Penrhyn Castle, Llandegai National Trust

Lligwy Beach, 4 miles from Amlwch

The delightful sheltered and sandy Lligwy beach is popular for families with children and dogs. It's shallow shelving makes it ideal for little ones to paddle safely. There are lots of rock pools to explore and with a cafe/ beach shop, toilets and car park all your needs are catrered for. Ynys Dulas known locally as Seal Island lies just off shore. Lligwy is a perfect place to spot seals, dolphins and porpoise.

There is much to see and do near this self catering cottage at Benllech on Anglesey. This area is finally recognised for the quality of the scenery and wildlife along the 124 mile long distance footpath almost entirely within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
