About this cottage:
- Charming and welcoming terraced cottage in the heart of St Davids just a few yards from the Cathedral and pub and a short walk from shops, galleries and restaurants.
- The cottage has beamed ceilings and the open plan lounge is cosy and uncluttered with a multi fuel stove.
- Surprisingly spacious the cottage has a calm relaxed atmosphere – ideal for memorable holidays. The bright kitchen opens onto a sunny rear courtyard with table and chairs for sheltered outdoor summer meals.
- Steps lead from the courtyard up to the pretty garden at first floor level from where there are distant views of Ramsey Island and St Bride’s Bay - perfect for drinks on a balmy evening.
- With cultural treasure to offer the St Davids Cathedral Music Festival in May is the high point of a year of concerts whilst the Bishops' Palace hosts summer plays outdoors and a variety of musical and historical events throughout the year. For the shopping enthusiast, St Davids and Solva each has a range of small individual shops, galleries & crafts.
- The Coastal Puffin, Celtic Coaster and Strumble Shuttle all serve St Davids. They run alongside the coast calling in at villages, towns, beaches and coves along the way. Leave your car at home and hop on and off the buses.
- St Davids is central to the peninsula and convenient for exploring the surrounding coast path where spring flowers, seabirds, seals and unbounded wildlife present an unexpected treasure for the uninitiated.
- St Davids is a surfers’ delight with a choice of great beaches - the daily venue dictated by the direction of the wind and tide.
- For outdoor enthusiasts the whole peninsula offers a huge range of activities - climbing, surfing, coasteering and walking. For guided activities ask at TYF on the square in St Davids or Preseli Venture in Mathry.
- Porthgain and Abereiddi retain the ruins of an industrial past, enveloped by scenery of stunning natural beauty.
- Explore the coast of Ramsey Island by boat with a jet boat trip with Venture Jet from Whitesands beach or take a slower boat from St Justinian and land on Ramsey Island for a day of peace and tranquillity.
- Druidstone Hotel is a treasure not to be missed - tucked into the cliff at Druidstone Haven and offering fine food and a stunning view for the diner. Watch Nolton Stable's riders galloping across the sands from the delightful clifftop garden.
- Take the opportunity to browse some of the best of the Pembrokeshire Art Scene where a wide variety of work is on display.
- Arguably some of the best fishing in Wales can be done off the rocks and from the beaches around St Davids. Mackeral, garfish, wrasse, bass, pollack, dog fish and tope all waiting to be caught.
- Keen walkers will enjoy this relatively level 9 mile walk which follows the coastal path and then returns via a leafy lane through St Davids or you could hop on a coastal bus.
- A test of concentration. The wonderful coastal views of Whitesands Bay and Ramsey Island are sure to tempt you from your game on this 9 hole links course.
- A 2-3 acre garden open daily in support of the RNLI and part of the National Gardens scheme. There is plenty of seasonal interest with trees, shrubs, grasses and flowers. A large selection of plants is on sale.
- Explore St Davids Peninsula on the back of a gentle, intelligent Gypsy Vanner horse. Trek across beaches, moorland, bridle paths and along leafy lanes.
- Experience the thrill of ultimate 4x4 and JCB driving - training courses, recreational days and taster sessions available.
- One of the sleepy villages punctuating the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Catch crabs or take a boat trip from the harbour wall. Stroll around the interesting shops and galleries and choose from a selection of good places to eat and drink.
- Pembrokeshire's oldest working working woollen mill, just outside the village, patronised by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, specialises in flat weave stair runners and floor rugs. Visit the shop and Dye Shed Tearoom.
- Enjoy a truly memorable holiday at any time of the year in this cosy welcoming St Davids Cottage for family holidays. All facilities within walking distance. Give your car a holiday.
