About Epynt View
Llanwrtyd Wells holiday cottage sleeps 10
  • With views of the Epynt Mountains this traditional Welsh barn has been converted into a spacious holiday cottage  - for holidays with walks and hill trails direct from your door.
  • This is an ideal base for walking, mountain biking, bird watching or just relaxing amidst the beautiful tranquil scenery of the Irfon Valley, an SSSI.
  • The Quality Cottages directors and team stayed at Epynt View for the duration of the Royal Welsh Show and can't speak highly enough about the quality of comfort, services and architecture and the impressive attention to detail they experienced. The team highly recommend this Quality Cottage.

About The Area
Royal Welsh Show Ground, Llanwrtyd Wells
  • An impressive purpose built show ground in the picturesque mid Wales countryside hosting many events throughout the year the most prestigious being the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show a showcase for British farming. Other events include food fairs, dog shows, Spring Festival, antiques fairs, the Welsh Winter Fair and more.
Llanwrtyd Wells
  • Llanwrtyd Wells (1.5 miles), the smallest town in Wales featured in the BBC Countryfile programme (2013) is the home of Welsh pony trekking as well as some wacky events including the Man V Horse Race and Bog Snorkelling.
  • There are several award winning restaurants, a handful of local shops, galleries and inns and is a perfect centre from where to explore this beautiful land - by foot, car or on the fabulous Heart of Wales railway line.
Irfon Valley near Llanwrtyd Wells holiday cottage
  • This SSSI has valleys and open moorland - habitat for many rare species of flora and fauna and the increasingly rare Red Squirrel.
  • You may also spy Red Grouse amongst the heather and watch out for Lapwing, Golden Plover and Red Kites - a birdwatchers paradise..
Upper Irfon River
  • For canoeists and kayakers the River offers testing rapids for the more experienced as well as several miles of fishing.
Abergwesyn Common (NT) Dogs welcome
  • Known as the "Roof top of Wales", wild, remote and ancient and rich in archaeology from Bronze Age sites to deserted medieval villages.
  • Discover the footprints of an old drover's road as it passes tiny churches, meanders along quiet river banks and follows ancient forest tracks and wherever you walk you're likely to stumble across a cairn, a stone circle, or standing stone and other evidence of human activity dating back hundreds of years.
Coed Trallwm Mountain Bike Centre
  • This privately owned forest (10 min drive) has three mountain bike trails, visitor's centre, café (summer months only) and much more - , with 3 great cycle tracks through the forests , a visitor centre, cafe and much more, just a 10 minute drive away - get away from it all and spend the day challenging yourself..
Dinas RSPB reserve at Rhandirmwyn (12m)
  • Enjoy a walk through enchanting alder and oak woodland, past fast-flowing, spectacular rivers. This reserve is set in a steep sided rugged valley in the heart of the beauty of mid Wales.
  • In the summer time there'll be pied flycatchers, redstarts, common sandpipers, dippers and grey wagtails to espy.
Gigrin Farm
  • For Red Kites like you've probably never seen them before on maybe the largest, most fantastic bird table in the U.K. and an exhibition of wildlife - friendly farming, Gigrin Farm is a great family day out.
Llyn Brianne Dam
  • Llyn Brianne is a spectacular reservoir at almost 300 m (990 ft) above sea level. It holds over 64 million cubic metres of water and is the largest of its kind in Europe - drive around the Dam with lots of view points and don't miss the fearsome 'Devil's Staircase' with a gradient in parts of 1 in 4!.

What a gem, what a find, we are so lucky, well done for bringing the barn so sympathetically to a new standard. Appreciate the old features mixed with the modern. Thank you
Ron Loh, Singapore
A wonderful holiday in a stunning location. We have had time to relax and to feel welcome at the same time and to enjoy local activities in an interesting area. We have eaten in several restaurants, visited the dams and witnessed the red kites being fed. Fabulous time – thank you
Mr & Mrs Tiplady, Cardiff
Very spacious cottage though very cozy. Ideal place for a holiday with 5* accommodation. We had an amazing time. Our hosts were very hospitable and also can never forget Iwan’s help when our car got stuck. Loved the bunny Easter chocolates, kids had a fabulous time with their favourite channels on TV. Enjoyed being warm near the fire place.
