About Mews Cottage
Menai Strait Cottage
  • Luxury mews cottage with fabulous views overlooking Menai Straits and Snowdonia. 1 mile from Menai Bridge and Waitrose and 2 miles from Beaumaris. A 2 minute walk takes you to the water’s edge and a 10 minute stroll away is the nearest pub - close access to the Anglesey Coastal Path.
  • Recently renovated, with great attention to detail, the cottage is an ideal getaway either for families or couples who want to relax in one of the most sought after regions of Anglesey.
  • The ground floor open plan living area is stylish and spacious with the beautifully appointed colourful bedrooms (2 on the 1st floor). Children will love escaping to the 2nd floor bedroom reached via a wrought iron spiral staircase.
  • The small rear courtyard is a lovely spot in which to relax and enjoy a candle lit supper after a days exploring this beautiful island.

About The Area
Beaumaris
  • Surely the prettiest town in North Wales with its candy coloured townhouses, romantic castle surrounded by a moat and lovely independent shops - do visit the Janet Bell Gallery for a memento of your stay as well as the excellent restaurants and tea rooms throughout the town.
  • Recommended for good food in great Anglesey locations are The White Eagle near the pretty village of Rhoscolyn and the Oystercatchers at Rhosneigr. Menai Bridge town 1 mile from the cottage has a Waitrose and an excellent Bistro/delicatessen - Stafford house - they will also cook and deliver food to your door!
Plas Newydd (NT)
  • Set in beautiful grounds on the edge of the Menai Strait there is interesting military memorabili and the largest collection of Rex Whistler murals in the manor house.
Boat Trips
  • .Enjoy a power boat trip from here under the 2 magnificent bridges and view the 2 mighty castles of Caernarfon and Beaumaris from the water.
Llanddona, Benllech & Lligwy Beach
  • Lovely beaches skirt the island and the nearest is Llanddona, a wide expanse of sand that never gets crowded. Further along the coast is the popular resort of Benllech and beyond is Lligwy Beach near the pretty village of Moelfre perched on the rocks above the water - reminiscent of a Cornish fishing village.
Trearddur Bay and Rhosneigr
  • The western and northern beaches are more rugged with Trearddur Bay and Rhosneigr hugely popular with surfers who take advantage of the Atlantic swells as well as lots of little coves.
Anglesey Coastal Path & Circular Walks
  • The Coastal Path provides 125 miles of coastal walking with stunning views along beaches, headlands and pockets of woodlands designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty look out for the seabirds nestling on the cliff sides.
  • The circular walks are often linked to the Coastal Path - recommended and nearest to the cottage is Afon Lleiniog Woodland Footpaths with boardwalks taking you through a nature reserve which is a breeding habitat for a wide variety of birds and passing the remains of a post conquest Norman motte and bailey castle.
Newborough Warren & Ynys Llanddwyn
  • This is a truly magical and unique region. Walk through the pine forest where there are hides from which to observe the wildlife look out for the red squirrels that now dominate Anglesey and are no longer a rare sighting on the island.
  • Walk along the beach to Llanddwyn Island and the ruined church of St. Dwynwen - the Welsh St. Valentine - look out for the wild ponies and the lighthouse at the water's edge.
Llynnon Mill
  • This mill is the last working mill on the island buy some stone ground wholemeal flour and enjoy a traditional Welsh tea in their café. 2 prehistoric roundhouses have been built here giving a fascinating insight to life on the island 3.000 years ago.

Very well equipped cottage with great views, ideal for touring Anglesey. Garlic press would be a useful addition to the kitchen. All in all a lovely stay, lots to see in the area and we hope to return.
