Why we recommend Dairy Cottage...

Lleyn Peninsula holiday cottage with fabulous coastal views minutes drive from Whistling Sands. 2 Dogs welcome

About Dairy Cottage
Lleyn Peninsula holiday cottage with fabulous coastal views 9 minutes drive to Whistling Sands
  • Superb coastal views from this delightful Lleyn Peninsula holiday cottage set high on Mynydd Rhiw (Rhiw Mountain) from where all the Lleyn's delightful resorts and beaches are within an easy drive.
  • The lovely interior has a spacious kitchen/ dining room, lounge with a wood burning stove (gas) in a large inglenook and prettily decorated bedrooms
  • The holiday cottage and garden look down on a patchwork of well tended fields, clusters of cottages in small hamlets and deep wooded vales.  The Rival Mountain range is beyond as it dips into the sea and on clear days, in the distance the pyramid of Snowdon, the rest of the Snowdonia massif and the Isle of Anglesey.
  • Perfect for 2 families to holiday together or for a couple wanting to get away from it all - there is a great small party discount.
Delightful Garden at holiday cottage on the Lleyn Peninsula
  • The newly landscaped garden has been designed to maximise your enjoyment of the spectacular coastal view. There is a large front patio surrounded by lovely borders of lavender, climbing cottage roses, bay leaf trees and hydrangeas, with small pathways leading to different areas of the garden.  Walk from the cottage to Garn Fadryn where there are the remains of a pre-historic fort.
  • A be-spoke wooden canopy in a secluded corner of the garden is a sheltered retreat with wooden sun loungers and a fire pit - great for barbecuing or enjoying an outdoor fire and a perfect spot for a sun downer!
  • Children are well provided for with a goal post at one end of the side lawn and a trampoline amongst the bushes.

About The Area
Whistling Sands (NT)
  • Within a short drive Whistling Sands is one of the Lleyn Peninsula's favourite bays - yes the sands really do whistle! There is also an excellent beach cafe on the rocks above the sands.
Hell's Mouth (Porth Neigwl) & Morfa Nefyn Beach
  • Nearby there are lots of lovely beaches to enjoy including Hell's Mouth with its Atlantic swells - a firm favourite with surfers.  Morfa Nefyn Beach with the famous Ty Coch pub at Porthdinllaen (NT) at one end is also popular.
Lleyn Coastal Path
  • This can be joined wherever you see the sign - the headland found at the entrance of Morfa Nefyn beach is a good starting point.  Find your favourite spot along the coastline and walk across flower strewn fields to tiny little bays.
  • Look out for shoals of dolphins that swim close to the shore in quiet weather and enjoy the spectacular Peninsula views. Spot the resident peregrines and kestrels and the emblem of the Lleyn, the chough.
Aberdaron
  • Visit the Land's End of North Wales - Aberdaron is a remote white washed village - wander around the ancient church above the beach and admire the beautiful Norman arched doorway. Then perhaps enjoy an award winning crab or lobster meal at The Ship Hotel in the village.
Abersoch
  • This is the polar opposite of Aberdaron with its restaurants, bars and shops.  Lots of excellent stylish restaurants have sprung up in the last 10 years and booking for dinner may be advisable. There are activities to watch and enjoy, from Wakestock pop festival in July, regattas in August and a jazz festival in September.
Glyn y Weddw Art Gallery
  • This lovely Victorian Mansion in Llanbedrog is Wales's oldest art venue and has been transformed to display art works of renowned local artists. Enjoy a meal in the conservatory - particularly popular is eating out on the lawn in good weather and strolling in the newly opened wooded walkway beyond the Gallery.
Plas yn Rhiw (NT)
  • Set above Aberdaron with sublime views of Cardigan Bay down to Strumble Head in good weather this small, restored manor house depicts a way of life long gone from the Lleyn - beautiful grounds with interesting flowering trees and shrubs and a brilliant displays of bluebells in the woods above the house in Springtime.

Why you love Dairy Cottage
We have had a wonderful week away - made especially so by this truly idyllic cottage - the grounds, the views, the comfort! We visited Llanbedrog beach (& bought a painting in the gallery), Aberdaron, Porth Ysgo (great!) and especially enjoyed Whistling Sands and a trip up Snowden Mountain Railway. We hope to return...........

This is our 2nd time here and certainly won't be our last!! We love the cosy house which has amazing views and is fantastic for our children. The Llyn Peninsula is such a beautiful place and we have had so much fun here - particularly body boarding at Whistling Sands. We'll see you again next year.

Wonderful cottage, facilities, gardens, meadow & view, even with the excitement of a day without electricity (the whole area). Have christened the very nice new barbeque. Have been lucky enough to stay here before and will certainly be back. Beautiful weather for most of our stay, great sunset, moon over ox-eye daisies in wildflower meadow and lots of bats at dusk. Peter (gardener/landscaper) is a nice man. Lovely tea rooms at gallery/exhibition house at Llanbedrog. Thank you also for the welcome hamper
Anthony, Helen, Alex, Georgina, Barry & Tilly
Thank you for a wonderful stay in an exceptional cottage. The gardens are beautiful and our children have had a fabulous time running through the pathways. The fact that no expense has been spared throughout the cottage is obvious. We hope to be back again.
Upton-Rhodes family
We have had a wonderful holiday here (celebrating our 44th Wedding Anniversary!). The cottage is beautiful and cosy and in a stunning location. The welcome hamper was a lovely surprise and full of delicious goodies. We have had sunshine every day and explored many outstanding beaches & countryside. We hope to return again!
