Why we recommend Neuadd Wen...

Elegant Criccieth holiday house with elevated position and sea views of the bay, castle and town.

About Neuadd Wen
Lleyn Peninsula holiday house with panoramic views across to Harlech
  • Gorgeous house standing in an elevated position with sublime views of the stunning bay and romantic ruined Castle in the background.
  • Only a short walk to the beach and lovely independent shops and restaurants.
  • A beautifully appointed property full of light, with large windows to enjoy panoramic views across the bay to Harlech. There is a fresh white theme throughout with comfortable dark blue sofa and chairs in the lounge and a large Georgian-style fireplace with gas burning stove. Luxurious 'Shaker' style cream units in the kitchen/dining room.
  • There are Three stylish bedrooms, two with spacious en suite bathrooms. It is an ideal house for families and children will love the playroom with masses of toys and games to amuse and for adults there is a small conservatory to relax in.
  • The sheltered garden at the back has a sloping lawn surrounded by mature trees - a perfect retreat after a busy day and ideal for barbecues and children to play.
  • The front patio is perfect for enjoying the views and sunsets.

About The Area
Criccieth beaches and town
  • Criccieth boast two Blue Flag beaches either side of the romantic ruined castle on the hillside and the town skirts the shoreline with plenty of independent shops selling meat, fish and fresh vegetables - buy locally to support local businesses. There are many good restaurants and cafes indulge in freshly made ice cream at renowned Cadwalladers or superb fish and chips at the shop opposite.
Coastal Path
  • Begin the walk  by the Castle and look out for scorch marks from the Welsh rebel Glyndwr's attack on the Castle. The ruins were striking enough to have inspired the artist JMW Turner. The walk hugs the cliffsides before turning inland along river banks and rural lanes on its circuit through the village of Llanystymdwy, which was the childhood home of David Lloyd George (the Welsh prime minister) where there is an interesting museum to his memory.
Portmeirion
  • The Italian inspiration of the architect Clough Williams Ellis never fails to enchant. Portmeirion is hugely popular with the cult followers of the '60's TV series 'The Prisoner'. Enjoy dinner at the stunning hotel or at the Deudreath Castle at the entrance to this surreal village.
RSPB Glaslyn Osprey Centre
  • Ospreys have been nesting in woods on this lovely river for many years and there is a 'hide' from which to observe them during their nesting season.
Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways
  • Both railways have their terminus at Porthmadog, the Ffestiniog crosses the embankment which offers sublime views of Snowdon and the magnificent Glaslyn Estuary before steaming upwards through the wooded valley of Maentwrog to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Stop there and visit the Llechwedd Slate Caverns or for the more adventurous try the longest zip wire run in the world - a very popular new feature. The Welsh Highland goes in the opposite directions through the famous Aberglaslyn Pass and onto Caernarfon - whose mighty castle is well worth a visit.
Gateway to the Lleyn Peninsula
  • Criccieth is set at the edge of this area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. Here the coastal path comes into its own - enjoy the great variety of bird life it offers and the grey seals that colonise the coastal waters. Follow the footpaths of pilgrims and visit ancient small churches they used on their journey to Bardsey Island. Visit lovely remote Aberdaron or bustling Abersoch with its lively bars and restaurants.

Why you love Neuadd Wen
Neuadd Wen is a fantastic house, very well equipped to accommodate our party of five (2 adults,3 children). It has fantastic views over Criccieth and is within walking distance of the beach and the high street. We enjoyed days out to Black Rock Sands, Caernarfon and the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway. We had a lovely holiday and highly recommend this holiday rental.
K Kirk, Staffordshire
The house is conveniently located for the town and is just a short walk from the beach. It has great views over the bay and out to sea and it is well furnished and has all the facilities you would expect. The bedrooms are all a good size and there are bathrooms upstairs and down. There is a lovely sunny kitchen with floor to ceiling windows, which is great for a leisurely breakfast whilst watching the waves, and a nice sized garden and loads of parking space. The house provides an ideal base for exploring the local area and beaches.
Jane Lovett, Cheshire
Idyllic location, captivating views out over the bay, lovely garden, plenty of parking, very well equipped, great beach locally in the charming village of Criccieth with lovely sands of Black Rock only a short drive away.
Mrs Wilson, Hale, Cheshire
My family and I had a fantastic stay in this beautifully renovated home with amazing views of the sea. Close to all Criccieth has to offer and very well equipped (especially for families). Everything you need for a comfortable holiday. Private and quiet location just minutes walk from the town centre and beaches. 5 stars!!
Mrs V Day, Chiswick, London
An extremely comfortable and well equipped holiday home with unbeatable views from almost every room over Cardigan bay and down the Welsh coast. The house is perfectly situated for beach and walking holidays, with Criccieth beach a few minutes down the hill, Black Rock Sands a 10 minute drive away, and Snowdonia in the back garden!
