Designated the UK's first ever Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the Gower Peninsula reaches out from Swansea Bay stretching 19 miles into the Bristol Channel. Walking around its 38 mile coastal path from Mumbles to Crofty reveals a variety of stunning landscapes including glorious unspoilt beaches, grassy topped limestone seacliffs, pre historic caves, woodlands, salt marsh and wild moors. Keen walkers can walk the path in 2 days but it is perfectly possible to walk it in shorter, much more manageable sections. The terrain can be rough in parts and sometimes steep but the effort is amply rewarded. The views are breathtaking. Some sections are wheelchair friendly and some parts are shared by cyclists and horse riders.
