Why we recommend Jones' Granary...

Jones' Granary is an ideal family holiday home sleeping 6. Ground floor bedroom and shower room with disabled access. Pet-friendly, less than 2 miles to Three Cliffs Bay and walk to a country pub.

About Jones' Granary

This light and airy cottage - a recent barn conversion on working beef cattle farm – is to be found in a tiny sleepy hamlet, minutes from the unspoiled beaches of Gower.

  • On the site of a working farm for hundreds of years - this roomy barn conversion offers a gentle pace of life and a welcome retreat from the world.
  • There are practical floors for children and dogs and a kitchen and dining area well equipped for easy entertaining. The sitting room is thoughtfully planned and patio doors open onto a large patio with lawns beyond - perfect for al fresco dining and a carefree holiday.
  • The large utility room to the rear houses a washing machine and drying cupboard and provides ample space for bike storage as well as a quiet space for tired and sandy dogs to cool off.
  • A disabled access double bedroom and spacious wet room lead off the main living area, as does a quiet, cosy lounge. The conversion has been specifically designed to enable easy access.  Picture yourself curled up with a good book or maybe the children will enjoy board games while supper bubbles away.  Jones' Granary has space and time for everyone.
  • The open modern stairway (take care with little ones) leads to two further bedrooms, a twin and a double - both generously proportioned and overlooking the rural ‘comings and goings’ of this quiet corner of the Gower.  These bedrooms share a well-equipped bathroom with a separate bath and shower cubicle.
  • Welcome pack of tea coffee etc and Welsh cakes.

About The Area

Three Cliffs Bay

  • Three Cliffs is one of Gowers' most picturesque beaches and it is easy to see why. The valley leading down to the sea is complete with castle, salt marshes and sand dunes and the three cliffs themselves makes this destination unique. The cliffs are popular with climbers and what a location - you can actually walk underneath the cliffs through an archway. There are stepping stones to cross the river on the Penmaen side of the bay (west) but watch out that the tide doesn’t cut off your return! The beach has a seasonal lifeguard station - please take care with children and dogs.

The Gower Inn

  • Just a short walk by footpath across the fields down into the valley takes you to this country pub where honest pub food and good beer is served all year.

Rhossili Beach and Worms Head

  • Journey out along one of Wales's most iconic cliff walks with breathtaking views from the golden sand of Rhossili to the rugged limestone rocks of the south Gower coast.
  • Stop off on your return for lunch at The Bay Bistro. A simply stunning view from every table of beautiful Rhossili Beach and home-made treats. If the tide is out you will even see the bones of The Helvicta wreck reaching out through the sands.

Gower Coast Adventures - Boat Trips (May to September)

  • Take a boat trip aboard a large RIB (rigid inflatable boat) to explore the Gower coast from Mumbles to Worms Head.  Passengers are picked up and dropped off at Knab Rock, Port Eynon and Oxwich and taken along the coast to spot grey seals, porpoises and dolphins as well as seabirds such as Razorbills and Guillemots (June and July), Gannets and Sheerwaters.

Gower Heritage Centre, Parkmill

  • Based around a 12th-century water-powered corn mill, the centre is a visitor attraction with a rural life museum and craft shops. There are craft activities, an old fashioned games arcade and adventure, sandpit, soft play and tractor play areas. With an animal farm, Wales' smallest cinema and a busy calendar of events and festivals through the year – this is a ‘full-on’ day out for the family.

The Gower Coast Path

  • Forming part of the fabulous All Wales Coast Path, this section of path follows the entire peninsula with castles, beaches, rugged cliffs, ancient churches, fascinating caves and a wealth of wildlife to explore.
  • Whether you want a gentle stroll or a major expedition, this is a beautiful and spectacular setting.

The National Show Caves of Wales

  • Discovered back in 1912 by the Morgan Brothers, Dan-yr-Ogof Show caves are filled with adventure and natural wonder. Visitors can be amazed by the famous formations - the “Rasher of Bacon”, the heavenly “Angel” and the “Alabaster Pillar” in the Dan yr Ogof Cave. See over 220 life-sized dinosaur models in the Dinosaur Park.

Pembrey Country Park

  • Set against the spectacular backdrop of the Gower Peninsula and overlooking the coastal scenery of Carmarthen Bay, Pembrey Country Park is one of Wales’s top visitor attractions providing a unique blend of coast and countryside.
  • Attractions include 8 miles of golden sandy beach, the longest toboggan run in Wales, 130 metre-long dry ski slope, giant adventure playground, conservation pond with bird hides, wildlife trails, BBQ sites and much more.
