About The Area
Little England Beyond Wales
  • South Pembrokeshire is often referred to as 'little England beyond Wales'. The locals speak English, place names are English and yet the area is surrounded by Welsh speakers on all sides even in north Pembrokeshire! During the 12th century Henry I allowed a number of Flemish to settle in the area and they were soon joined by English settlers. The Flemish and English languages were similar at the time. This led to the extinction of Welsh in the area.
Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and Neyland Marina
  • The Pembrokeshire Coast Path - 186 miles of glorious scenery and fabulous walking - and Neyland Marina are within 2 miles of this luxurious Haven Waterway holiday home.
  • Arrange a sea safari, sight seeing/fishing trip or charter a dive boat at Neyland Marina where there is a quayside restaurant/bar overlooking the Haven and Brunel Cafe for coffee cakes and light lunches - watch the endless activity of sailing boats coming and going.
Brunel's Cycle Track
  • Cycle or walk the Brunel Track - along the old railway built by Neyland's founder - Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
Pembroke
  • Pembroke - with its very well preserved medieval castle (birthplace of Henry VII) which hosts lots of events throughout the year - is a fascinating small historic town with a mill pond, individual shops, pubs and restaurants.
  • Do visit The Corn Store - stylish modern furniture, lamps etc - and its coffee shop (lovely lunches) overlooking the picturesque mill pond and at the top of the town perhaps the largest antique centre in Pembrokeshire.
St Brides Bay Pembrokeshire
  • Lots to discover - the soft, golden, sandy beaches of St Brides Bay, Dale and Marloes Peninsula, and the rugged beauty of the St Davids Peninsula. Dogs are welcome all year round on many beaches, some allow restricted access only during the summer months.
  • Golfers are well catered for, there are theme and adventure parks for all the family and glorious gardens - don't miss Upton Castle with its waterside walk, Victorian rose garden, fabulous arboretum and stunning unique medieval chapel.

Why you love Rose House
Just fantastic, a fabulous base to explore Pembrokeshire. Thank you David for the welcome & we appreciated the wine and Welsh cakes.
From all the family
We do not holiday in November for the weather! We come for peace and rest hopefully in a comfortable place where we can bring our dog. This lovely place, 'Rose House', has surpassed anywhere we have stayed before and really made our holiday complete. Thank you for caring to provide such wonderful accommodation.
Roy & Jackie Baughan & Bella the black lab
Fantastic house & location and lovely welcome pack. We arrived on Friday to a lovely warm cosy immaculately clean house - very welcoming. Weather has been challenging but we still enjoyed it!! Our friends joined us on Sat eve and we had a good meal and banter at the Jolly Sailor!! Visited The Bar Neyland Marina on Sunday eve and had a good meal and returned to @:Rose House' for a relaxing eve in front of the fire. We've had such a lovely break and are very reluctant to leave today - not too far a journey for us!! Thank you so much Dave it's been a much needed break!!
Annette & John Williams (St Davids)
What a beautiful place to be, always something to look at and perfect for the canoe clan that were here, a fabulous homely comfortable house which all six of us plus the dog will most certainly come back to. Thank you for letting us stay here. It was magic.
Williamson's and Dooley the dog
One big complaint!!! We're going to be hard pressed to find a place as good as this again. Beautiful house and area. A credit to you Dai.
Jan, Chris, Dave, Jim, The Black Country
We've had a lovely time here. It is a lovely house with stunning views. The layout is great with 3 great bedrooms and stunning bathrooms! Thanks for the lovely time & fitting us in.
Chris, Lynne and Lily the dog
What a wonderful week we've had. It began with the delight of arrival at Rose house and exploringthe beautiful rooms, continued throughout a lovely sunny week of exploring this part of Pembrokeshire and ended this afternoon in the hot sun in the conservatory here. The comfort and decor at Rose House has been a great pleasure and its situation just above the riversuide has provided hours of 'sitting and watching', exactly what was needed. We've dined at the Jolly Sailor, the Ferry, in St Davids and Penally. The best of all was the Stackpole Inn: highly recommended. Thank you David and Suzanne for making us so welcome here and indeed for the welcome pack.
David & Sue Buckinghamshire
Our second visit to this lovely house - it didn't disappoint. It is a lovely home from home. Three generations had a lovely holiday as did the dog. So much to do in this area with fabulous weather once again. Hopefully will have a third visit next year.
