About The Area

Newgale and Pembrokeshire Coastal Path

  • Explore the flower-decked cliffs along the coast footpath in either direction from the beach at nearby Newgale.
  • Newgale is a stunning beach with almost 2 miles of sand, backed by a huge pebble bank, particularly popular with water sports enthusiasts.

Druidston Haven and Nolton Haven

  • Just a 10-minute drive away from The Castle is the beautiful unspoilt beach of Druidston Haven - bounded by towering rock faces, home to myriad sea birds and with more than a mile of smooth, golden sands at low tide.
  • Druidston, if you are a walker, is an access point for the Pembrokeshire Coast Path with its 186 miles of fabulous coastal scenery.
  • If you ride you can hire a horse from nearby Nolton Haven Stables and gallop across the sands.

 St Davids 

  • Investigate the magnificent medieval Cathedral and ruined Bishops' Palace dedicated to Wales's Patron Saint. The Cathedral is a busy church but also an international venue for music throughout the year; a memorable and rewarding place to visit. The Bishop's Palace will captivate your imagination and take you back to glories past.
  • With its independent cafés and local produce, there is plenty to keep you occupied for days of browsing. Don't miss the country market on a Thursday between April and September. In Oriel y Parc, you will find lots of information about the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, useful maps and guidebooks as well as a Class A, National Museum of Wales art gallery and café.

  • No fewer than 6 excellent galleries are located in St Davids, Britain's tiniest city - Oriel y Felin, Oriel y Park Visitors Centre has the Landscape Gallery in which hangs a permanent exhibition of work by Graham Sutherland as well as an artist in residence, St Davids Studio Gallery, Goat Street Gallery, The Cloisters Gallery in St Davids Cathedral, Steve Robinson's Glass Studio and Cheese and Pickles Design Studio & Gallery.
