About Snowdrop Cottage
Located in the rural heartland of North Pembrokeshire, surrounded by rich, rolling pastures, yet just a short drive to Porthgain Harbour and Abereiddy Bay, this lovely rural idyll is the perfect escape for a romantic break or well-deserved holiday.
  • Hidden behind the beautiful Ty Llwyd farmhouse, within a small private courtyard, Snowdrop Cottage is a real delight.
  • The beautiful garden, with uninterrupted views across tree lined fields and distant hills, provides the perfect place to relax and unwind, or to enjoy an evening barbecue cooking locally sourced produce.
  • Inside, the cosy living space is immaculately furnished and appointed, from the fully fitted kitchen to the wood burning stove, perfect for those chilly autumnal evenings.
  • The bedroom in this lovely cottage is relaxing and well appointed, with its soft white linen and stylish soft furnishing, it is sure to provide you with the perfect night’s sleep.
  • Feeling fully refreshed, you are welcome to join the farmhouse B&B guests for a home cooked breakfast (for an additional charge) or if you’re feeling more energetic, get off to an early start walking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, before brunch on one of the many beautiful beaches and quiet coves of the National Park.

About The Area
Porthgain & Abereiddy
  • A short drive from Snowdrop Cottage is the harbour at Porthgain, once a busy industrial port, exporting slate, bricks and road stone. The harbour is now used mostly for fishing and recreation, with the village green at the centre the site of interesting social occasions throughout the year.
  • Have supper in Porthgain - the Sloop Inn and The Shed Bistro are both popular eating destinations.
  • Freshly caught fish as well as lobster and crab can be bought in the village (in the season).
  • Abereiddy, a sand and shingle beach, is just over a mile away and is the starting point for a number of coastal walks including the nearby secluded sandy beach of Traeth Llyfn reached via a staircase from the Coastal Path.
 Pembrokeshire National Park
  • This is an area of outstanding natural beauty with breathtaking, unspoilt countryside/coastal paths with access to numerous beaches and stunning walks - beautiful wild flowers (especially in May and June) minutes drive away.
  • Numerous birds (Puffins visit Skomer Island in spring and summer), wildlife (seals can be spotted for most of the year) and there are regular boat trips to the nearby islands.
Solva harbour and fishing Village
  • A picturesque harbour village with interesting small shops and galleries and a selection of pubs, restaurants and places to eat.  Window on Wales is a well-stocked gift and clothes shop which draws customers from across the County – well worth a visit!
  • The harbour is a constantly changing vista of boats and other water craft.  Play on the little beach, go crabbing on down by the boats or walk round to the Gwadn at low tide.
  • At the end of the day enjoy tea and home-made cakes  at  the café by the river.
St Davids & Whitesands
  • St Davids has a magnificent cathedral with beautifully restored cloisters and ruined Bishop's Palace - interesting small shops, art galleries and some excellent restaurants.
  • Fabulous Whitesands Bay with its golden sands and excellent surf is within an easy 15 minutes drive - easy parking, life guards in high season and a cafe/shop.
  • St Davids 9 hole golf course overlooks the bay - breathtaking scenery and a challenge for beginners and experts alike!
Boat Trips
  • Visit the internationally important offshore bird islands of Ramsey and Skomer to see puffins, manx shearwaters, gannets and more. Look out for seals and dolphins on route and enjoy magnificent coastal scenery.
Beauty Spa - Home Visits
  • By prior arrangement a beauty therapist from a local beauty spa will visit Snowdrop Cottage - a lovely holiday treat.
Local attractions
  • Medieval castles, picturesque villages and harbours, numerous art galleries, local crafts and potteries, boutique shops, cafes/restaurants, golf, outward bound activities, farm parks, chocolate factory, Blue Lagoon water park, go karting, riding, surfing (incl lessons), canoeing, walking in the Preseli Mountains, fishing, tennis and the ferry to Ireland.
  • Within a 5 minutes drive of the cottage  is an excellent local Londis (with fuel) at Square & Compass. There is another supermarket at St Davids and a M&S in Haverfordwest.
