Why we recommend Swn y Mor...

Trefin holiday cottage to rent Pembrokeshire Wales near Porthgain & Coastal Path.

About Swn y Mor
Trefin cottage, Pembrokeshire National Park
  • In an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park this traditional Pembrokeshire stone cottage is set down a quiet lane at the edge of the small coastal village of Trefin.
  • Once home to a sea captain, the cottage is the end one in a row of 3 and has been furnished throughout with loving care and great attention to detail with lots of paintings and art work.
  • The cosy sitting room has an open fire and the bedrooms are a delight with lovely bed linen and a super kingsize bed in the master bedroom - glimpses of the sea and coast from the main bedrooms, kitchen and garden.
  • There is a separate sun room with a comfy sofa and chairs in the pretty cottage garden - a lovely place to relax in, get away from it all and simply while away the time!
About The Area
Trefin & Aberfelin Cove
  • Trefin has a family friendly pub - The Ship Inn - serving locally caught fish.
  • A short walk away is the Coastal Path and Aber Felin, a small, shingle and sandy cove with rock pools overlooked by the ruins of historic Melin Trefin Mill - the subject of the poem 'Melin Trefin' by Arch Druid Crwys one of the most famous poems in the Welsh language.
Pembrokeshire Coastal Path
  • This is a wonderful base from which to explore the Coastal Path - west to Porthgain, the Blue Lagoon and Abereiddi and east to Abercastle, Abermawr and Pwllderi.
  • The Coastal Path is perhaps at its most spectacular along this rocky stretch of coast - wild and wonderful in the autumn and winter gales, strewn with wild flowers and alive with bird song during the spring and summer.
Venture Jet, St Davids
  • Thrilling wildlife adventures to Ramsey Island and inshore islands to look for dolphins, whales and other marine wildlife. Experience specialised jet manoeuvres into caves, through over falls and around canyons and sea cliffs.
Strumble Shuttle Bus passes close by Trefin cottage
  • The Strumble Shuttle - a 'hail & ride coastal bus service' ideal for walkers, stops in the village 3 times a day during the summer months.
Abercastle, Porthgain & Mathry
  • Nearby are Abercastle, once a busy little port, the small fishing harbour of Porthgain with 'The Shed' Bistro and the famous Sloop Inn and the hilltop village of Mathry with its pub (good family bar food) and Church.
Square & Compass
  • There is a filling station and well stocked Spar mini-mart and pub at Square & Compass (1 mile inland ) and St Davids, the smallest cathedral city in Britain with art/craft galleries, tea rooms, restaurants and shops and the small market town of Fishguard are both within an easy drive.
