On Boxing Day in Tenby every year hundreds of bathers take a dip for charity.
Brrrr! How brave are you? On Boxing Day in Tenby every year hundreds of bathers, most of them in fancy dress, race into the cold winter sea at Tenby's North Beach watched over by the crew of Tenby Lifeboat who launch especially for the occasion. St John Ambulance, the Tenby coastguard team and Tenby Surf Lifesavers also provide safety cover. Equally large numbers of not so brave but loudly enthusiastic spectators rally round in support. The hugely popular event is held in aid of charity. It is a great way to round off the festive season. All comers are welcome. If you are not going to take the plunge then do make sure you have a few coins in your pocket to throw into one of the charity buckets. In 2013 more than £1500 was collected from the buckets alone. Add to that all the sponsorship and you can see this is a very worthwhile event as well as a lot of fun. Choose from a selection of South Pembrokeshire holiday homes and get into the swim.
