"probably the best little air show in the country"
Award winning Welshpool Airshow is held annually in June at Welshpool Airport. It was first started by dairy farmer Bob Jones on whose land the airport was built. It continues as a memorial to him, an enthusiastic and inspirational aviator. A host of historic and state of the art aircraft line the runways waiting their turns to take to the skies. Skilled pilots put the planes through their paces to the thrill of the excited crowds below. There are parachute displays and a flypast by the Red Arrows and plenty of entertainment on the ground too. The Festival of Transport exhibits an eclectic mix of vehicles including cars, buses, lorries, bikes, tractors. This is a wonderful day out for all ages.
