This really was a home from home, we wanted for nothing. There was more than enough in the way of utensils and pots and pans and the dishwasher was a rare but welcome treat. The house was warm, airy and clean, with a separate, cosy sitting room At night it was blissfully quiet, just what we wanted. During the day, we explored the peninsula and walked a lot of the coastal footpath. Three Cliffs Bay is easily accessible from the car park at the bottom of the hill from the Granary, right outside the paper shop.

lovely atmosphere, everything was clean and in proper condition. Large space in the house and in the garden. Only weak point: WiFi was a little unstable.

Thorsten Goldacker - 16th July 2018

It was a lovely spacious place and it is a great location. Everything was there that we needed, the walks from there were very scenic, and there were lovely places to visit. A great family holiday !

About the Area

Three Cliffs Bay

  • Three Cliffs is one of Gowers' most picturesque beaches and it is easy to see why. The valley leading down to the sea is complete with castle, salt marshes and sand dunes and the three cliffs themselves makes this destination unique. The cliffs are popular with climbers and what a location - you can actually walk underneath the cliffs through an archway. There are stepping stones to cross the river on the Penmaen side of the bay (west) but watch out that the tide doesn’t cut off your return! The beach has a seasonal lifeguard station - please take care with children and dogs.

The Gower Inn

  • Just a short walk by footpath across the fields down into the valley takes you to this country pub where honest pub food and good beer is served all year.

Rhossili Beach and Worms Head

  • Journey out along one of Wales's most iconic cliff walks with breathtaking views from the golden sand of Rhossili to the rugged limestone rocks of the south Gower coast.
  • Stop off on your return for lunch at The Bay Bistro. A simply stunning view from every table of beautiful Rhossili Beach and home-made treats. If the tide is out you will even see the bones of The Helvitea wreck reaching out through the sands.

Gower Coast Adventures - Boat Trips (May to September)

  • Take a boat trip aboard a large RIB (rigid inflatable boat) to explore the Gower coast from Mumbles to Worms Head.  Passengers are picked up and dropped off at Knab Rock, Port Eynon and Oxwich and taken along the coast to spot grey seals, porpoises and dolphins as well as seabirds such as Razorbills and Guillemots (June and July), Gannets and Sheerwaters.

Gower Heritage Centre, Parkmill

  • Based around a 12th-century water-powered corn mill, the centre is a visitor attraction with a rural life museum and craft shops. There are craft activities, an old fashioned games arcade and adventure, sandpit, soft play and tractor play areas. With an animal farm, Wales' smallest cinema and a busy calendar of events and festivals through the year – this is a ‘full-on’ day out for the family.

The Gower Coast Path

  • Forming part of the fabulous All Wales Coast Path, this section of path follows the entire peninsula with castles, beaches, rugged cliffs, ancient churches, fascinating caves and a wealth of wildlife to explore.
  • Whether you want a gentle stroll or a major expedition, this is a beautiful and spectacular setting.

The National Show Caves of Wales

  • Discovered back in 1912 by the Morgan Brothers, Dan-yr-Ogof Show caves are filled with adventure and natural wonder. Visitors can be amazed by the famous formations - the “Rasher of Bacon”, the heavenly “Angel” and the “Alabaster Pillar” in the Dan yr Ogof Cave. See over 220 life-sized dinosaur models in the Dinosaur Park.

Pembrey Country Park

  • Set against the spectacular backdrop of the Gower Peninsula and overlooking the coastal scenery of Carmarthen Bay, Pembrey Country Park is one of Wales’s top visitor attractions providing a unique blend of coast and countryside.
  • Attractions include 8 miles of golden sandy beach, the longest toboggan run in Wales, 130 metre-long dry ski slope, giant adventure playground, conservation pond with bird hides, wildlife trails, BBQ sites and much more.

Year round holidays can be enjoyed in this characterful converted barn ideal for families or friends sharing. 2 Dogs welcome.
