Guide to Crickhowell
Crickhowell is a historical market town nestled in the Usk Valley of the breathtaking Brecon Beacons National Park. The town is famed for the beautiful 17th-century stone bridge over the Usk River, the 18th-19th-century high street which is proudly lined with individual and independent shops, as well as eateries and of course, the ancient inns. John Evans described Crickhowell in his 19th-century book, The Garden of Wales as the ‘Glittering Jewel of the Vale', and we would have to agree; this special and characterful town and the surrounding areas offer visitors tranquillity, serenity and a fantastic place for outdoor exploration.
