  • Corner Cottage is a Grade II listed property tucked away in the corner of a handsome Georgian farmhouse courtyard.
  • You are welcomed into this luxury cottage by time-worn flagstones and a double height gallery hallway with two ground floor bedrooms leading off, both with double aspect windows - one with twin beds and one with a king sized bed. 
  • These two ground floor bedrooms each has beamed ceilings, refined furnishings, shining wooden floors and share a shower room.  The twin has a large glazed window looking onto a secluded courtyard - dappled shade beckons through the sparkling windows inviting you to explore the pristine grounds beyond.
  • The bespoke staircase leads up to a bright and spacious landing and two additional large bedrooms, one with a king sized bed and lovely garden views, the other with a super king sized bed and romantic "Juliette" balcony overlooking the beautifully tended gardens. These two first floor bedrooms share a generously proportioned bathroom. 
  • On the ground floor and at the other end of the hallway is a family sitting room complete with handsome furnishings and a large log burner. There are views from the double aspect windows across the front cobbled courtyard and over more tranquil gardens at the rear.  
  • The galley style kitchen is amply stocked with quality china and is completed with a range of modern appliances and with its open plan style and room for everyone this makes meal times a sociable occasion for all.  There is a music system, TV/DVD and lots of interesting literature about the areas many beauty spots - an ideal place to relax over a drink and plan the next outing.
  • A terrace for the exclusive use of Corner Cottage guests is tucked away in the garden and there is a recreation area with shared 'ping pong' table.  The shared gardens are very well maintained and contain a diverse array of trees and plants, making this an ideal spot to wander and gaze at the stars in this quiet corner of Wales.
  • An ideal location for walkers and festival goers. The village of Glasbury is a mile away and the cottage is just 5 miles from Hay on Wye.
  • Neighbouring properties Courtyard, Cobble and Corner Cottages can be booked altogether giving combined accommodation for 20 guests. Courtyard Cottage has a large dining table and enough crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment to facilitate all.  An ideal choice for celebrations and special occasions.

Hay on Wye (5 miles)

  • Hay-on-Wye, just a short trip takes you to this fantastic diverse market town.  Ideal for stocking up on deli items and great for browsing.
  • The 'Town of Books' is fascinating, There are the famous second-hand bookshops, designer boutiques, a butter market with local produce, antique dealers, retailer's catering for crafts and interiors, there is even a chandelier shop which is truly charming. 
  • The Globe Cinema and Theatre is a venue which hosts a variety of eclectic artists and theatrical performances throughout the year. 
  • The choice of cafes and restaurants will leave you needing to return time and again . Don't miss Shepherds Ice Cream Parlour, which sells not only delicious ice cream but great coffee and deserts.  Foyles is a popular spot for lunch.  Felin Fach Griffin gastro pub has an excellent reputation and an evening here is a must (booking recommended), a little further afield is The Stag Inn at Titley, different cuisine and also a must do on any trip to Corner Cottage .
  • Home to the famous Hay Literary Festival, Hay Walking Festival, the Dark Skies Festival, Hay Bike Festival, you won't be short of annual events to enjoy. 
Hay Castle
  • The restoration of  Hay Castle, a  part Norman, Jacobean and Victorian castle in the centre of the town into a lively cultural space is imminent, but for moment you can explore the Castle's grounds and visit the Honesty Bookshop
Richard Booth's Book Shop & Café 
  • A huge, welcoming space, formerly owned by ‘King of Hay’ Richard Booth, it has been restored with aesthetic flair by the new owner, making it arguably one of the most beautiful bookshops in the world. It includes a exceedingly good café and a 48 seater cinema for rainy days and evenings out.
River Cafe
  • Hire a canoe from the fabulous  "River Cafe" in Glasbury, just one mile from Corner Cottage. Meander down the river, then pick your spot for a picnic lunch on the river bank. River Cafe also offer you the opportunity to hire a scooter!

Town Tours

  • Learn about Hay’s fascinating history and quirky characters with Hay Tours. Throughout the year, local volunteers offer expert talks on four different routes lasting an hour or two. Each one brings Hay’s history to life, from medieval times right to the present day

Small Breeds Farm and Owl Centre Kington

  • Ideal for families, this enchanting place has a huge of miniature, rare and seldom seen  animals.
Red Kite Feeding Station
  • Sit in the specially built hide, feet away from these majestic birds. A sight to behold as 50 birds or more may be seen in the skies at feeding times, their forked tails can be seen high in the sky circling before they dive down to feed. 

Outdoor Activities

  • The diversity of outdoor activities in the area means there is something for everybody within a short drive. - walking, hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, pot holing or simply taking a mountain drive the unspoilt beauty of this area is captivating!
Hay Bluff and Twmpa, the Black Mountains.
  • This is a full days walk, starting from Hay town centre - you’ll end up on top of the world, with spectacular views across to Pen-y-Fan. 

Offa's Dyke Path

  • The path runs close to Hay and is a challenging but well worth route, passing some breath-taking scenery along the way.

Wye Valley Walk 

  • This walk extends from Chepstow and crosses the Offa's Dyke Path at Hay, and continues to Rhayader, a total distance of 103 miles. Be amazed by what this quiet area of Wales can offer. The scenery along the walk will reveal unspoilt Mid Wales countryside at every turn.

Hereford and Llangorse Lake 

  • The market town of Hereford, a short drive away, makes for an excellent day trip. Visit the Cathedral, home to the famous Mappa Mundi and now unique Chain Library
  • Sailing on Llangorse Lake is available for all family, or hire a canoe.  The unspoilt beauty of this area is beguiling.
