Lovely and quiet, fantastic view over valley. Plenty of walks in forest. Perfect location if you want to get away from it all.
Peaceful cottage with beautiful views and lots of wildlife to see , great location for walking and our dogs loved it exploring the enclosed garden
Lovely location for peace and quiet and wildlife and walks in the forest. 4 mile narrow lane approach bit scary for brownies like us.

Thank you for your review of Forest Cottage, glad you enjoyed the lovely location.
We have had a lovely stay at Fron Cottage. The peace and quiet was just what we need. We watched the wildlfe, went for walks in the forest and explored the surrounding area, which was as beautiful as some of out National Parks but a lot quieter. Fron was comfortable, a couple of niggles the DVD player needed plugging into the tv, and a towel rail in the kitchen would have been great. The beds were comfortable, always a worry with bad backs, as were the sofas. Thank you for such a lovely place to stay we will be back.

If you've ever visited a holiday cottage before, you most likely have seen a guestbook in the property for guests to leave a review for others when they arrive. Each of the following comments was lovingly left by people just like you in the guestbook left at Forest Cottage.
Stayed a long weekend at Forest Cottage and we had such a lovely time. The owner was waiting for us when we arrived and he was such a friendly man, he showed us around the cottage and made suggestions of things to do and places to see. The views from the cottage are literally breathtaking, I could've sat in the armchair in the living room all day and admired the view and the wildlife from the surrounding Forest, which offer amazing walks! Even when exploring the surrounding area, everywhere we went we just felt the locals were so friendly and wanting to help us, some people even going out of their way to do so! I cannot wait to go back!
Nice to meet you Margaret and Peter. Flowers were lovely and delicious home baking thank you.Amazing location, loved exploring, walked miles in the forest. Dogs were actually tired by midweek!Loved watching the birds, all the tits, dunnocks, chaffinches, robins and the nuthatch! What a treat. We've filled up all the feeders, it's a sight too good to miss! Cottage was always warm to come back to and well appointed. Comfy bed!!I went to Bryngwyn Riding Stables for a 2 hour hack (near Kington) Ride up on the moor. Good solid horse, nice guide. Would recommend. The Stagg Inn, Tutley. Very nice lunchtime meal. Finally...can't believe we've never really visited this area. It's so quiet and unspoilt. And magnificent! Will be back.
Peace, serenity & tranquility in the most beautiful settings in Wales, surrounded by the spectacular and peaceful Radnor Forest which teems with wildlife including badgers, foxes and the deer who seem to wander down onto the path without fear or concern. Sit in the armchair and watch the siskins, tits, woodpeckers, swallows, robins, thrushes, jays, nut hatches & bull finches feed alongside the voles and cheeky squirrels. Whilst in the sky buzzards and red kite circle overhead and a garden visit from a sparrowhawk is a rare treat. Forget your woes and stresses and relax comfort and complete privacy, taking in the spectacular views and tranquil surroundings. The perfect location, welcomed by the perfect hosts in Peter & Margaret. Thanks for letting us share this Welsh paradise for the last 14 years, and here's to the next 14 years - cin cin.
Thirteen days of cloud with some heavy rain. The lower lane is flooded here and there but passable. We are in the mountains after all. I have always loved walking in clouds = the softness and silence, finding your from cairn to cairn, life unfolding. No cairns here but the forest roads guide you along. Our middle Saturday had a north wind bringing clear sunlight and migrant visitors = butterflies on dandelion flowers, a dragonfly in the anthill meadow, a flock of fieldfares swooping over the hill down to the vale, a willow warbler in the hedge. On the lawn beside the plum tree a fairy ring of white mushrooms is emerging. fifteen foot across. wonderful. Thirteen years coming here I have driven past the sign west of Whitton that points to the site of the Battle of Pilleth, Owain Glyndwr's great victory in 1402, but never turned off. Not interested in battles or history, I thought. This time, on the way back from Knighton, I took the turning onto a track winding up the hillside. At the top is a small plaque, an old church, and buckets of peace. It is quite extraordinary. The site and St Mary's Church have been looked after by the local landowner for centuries. In the admirable Welsh way, as much credit is given - by name - to the local farm labourer who built the steps as to the architect who designed or the baronet who paid. Now and then one should turn aside to look.Once again we have had a lovely time here at Forest Cottage. Peter and Margaret are the perfect hosts = they are here to greet you with tea and a catching up on local goings on, then they disappear and leave you alone.
Another relaxing week @ Forest Cottage & wonderful sunny weather. We love the feeder with the birds & voles busy feeding. This is the best cottage & scenery ever - we love it here! Thank You.
