Lovely location for peace and quiet and wildlife and walks in the forest. 4 mile narrow lane approach bit scary for brownies like us.

We have had a lovely stay at Fron Cottage. The peace and quiet was just what we need. We watched the wildlfe, went for walks in the forest and explored the surrounding area, which was as beautiful as some of out National Parks but a lot quieter. Fron was comfortable, a couple of niggles the DVD player needed plugging into the tv, and a towel rail in the kitchen would have been great. The beds were comfortable, always a worry with bad backs, as were the sofas. Thank you for such a lovely place to stay we will be back.

We’re sorry to be going home early on Thursday because of stormy rain in the next two days and one window on our car is stuck open. I’ve spent days working to make it safe for journey, using shooting ordered from Amazon via the very useful WiFi. Despite all that trouble - no time for even a walk - it was wonderful to sit here, just stepping outside to look at the valley in bright sun or mysterious fog or the magnificent stars on a cold clear night. Autumn is our favourite time here. During our stay the hazel trees in the up grown hedge around the meadow have changed colour slightly everyday - lemon, ochre, apricot and finally a rich tan.

A very comfortable cottage good enclosed garden for Smudge. Had good weather so out & about every day. The views and birds we will miss! Please fill the bird feeders! Recommend Hergest Gardens & Croft Castle - both dog friendly. If you like ancient trees, you’ll love Croft Castle! Lots of walks and a lovely tea room. Lots of walks from the door. We really enjoyed our stay!

We have had another lovely week here, thank you. Thanks for the wine & strawberries & cream. Loved them!! It’s been so hot we have not done much walking this week sadly. But it’s been so relaxing just sitting in the garden trying to keep cool! We filled the bird feeders up, and it took a couple of days for the birds to come back but once we did, we have been rewarded with so many again. We have seen foxes every night in the field with the sheep - the sheep and lambs were not bothered in the slightest! And about 4 badger sightings too. As we have never been this time of year before, we have never seen the garden looking this beautiful & wild! Just brilliant, with all the bees, butterflies and moths, Even seeing a Hummingbird moth on the lavender at night. We put out night camera out last night, and just saw the footage. At least two badgers by the fence which is so exciting! Thanks again!

A glorious week not a cloud in the sky and temperatures between 28-30 degrees. Megan loved the woods and all the early morning & late evening walks. Such a restful week just relaxing and enjoying the wonderful walks. Such a restful week just relaxing and enjoying the wonderful landscape. Thank you Peter & Margaret for your welcome, we also enjoyed the wine & berries. Can’t wait to return later in the year.

If the glory of March here was snowdrops, thousands of them all along the back, in June it was the simple cottage garden by the front door - masses of Lady’s Mantle, London Pride, Buttercups, Hard Bonnet and imaginatively grown Elder. Colourful Jays, and plain Dunnocks singing. At dawn the day is cool and fresh. I have been giving for long walks at 4 am, then back for breakfast ( and a siesta). Walking back past Rhiw Lawr one day I saw a rot doe with hidden fawns at the edge of a meadow. We spent one day at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, near Llandeilo, a beautiful drive through New Radnor and Builth Wells, 70 miles and worth it. We particularly liked the wild gardens of meadow, woodland and water. As always, we slept soundly here and return home refreshed. Thank you.
