  • A timeless, tranquil area with lots of beautiful walks along narrow, tree lined lanes and at the bottom of the hill is the delightful ancient church of St Marys.
Llanddona Beach
  • A popular beach for families. Canoeing, fishing and sailing take place here. There is a ramp for launching boats. A cafe and toilets are close by. Please see beach signs for dog restrictions.
Benllech Seaside Village
  • Benllech has an excellent beach and both the Slipway Café and Sea View Restaurant serve fine food - and after a day on the beach or a walk along the Heritage Coastal Path melt in the mouth scones are a real tea time treat!
Moelfre fishing village close to self catering cottage Anglesey
  • Moelfre, a short drive away, is a charming fishing village perched precariously on the cliff tops overlooking a rocky bay with sandy beaches both to the north and south. Lligwy Burial Chamber and Lligwy village are a mile inland - the remains of a Romano British settlement with a spooky atmosphere!

  • This Beaumaris eaterie has been awarded two AA rosettes. All meals are freshly prepared using local produce wherever possible including Welsh lamb, Welsh Black beef and fresh local sea food.
  • The Mill Trail is a half hour walk through the countryside from Howell Mill to Llynon Mill passing a modern wind farm on route. From one technological area to another.
Pili Palas Zoo, Menai Bridge
  • Be a zoo keeper for a day. Children will love helping to feed, clean, handle and muck out the animals. All helpers receive a certificate. Lunch and refreshments are included.
Blackpoint Lighthouse, Penmon & Llynnon Mill, Llandeusant
  • Make the lighthouse, built in 1838, a focus for a walk. In Welsh it is known as Trwyn Du.
  • Llynnon Mill is the only working windmill in Wales. It is known as the Granary of Wales due to the large quantities of oats and barley once grown there. The mill now operates as a working agricultural museum. It produces stone ground wholemeal organic flour.
Penrhyn Castle, Llandegai National Trust
  • Do visit this fascinating fantasy castle built with the profits from Welsh slate and Jamaican sugar.
Lligwy Beach, 4 miles from Amlwch
  • The delightful sheltered and sandy Lligwy beach is popular for families with children and dogs. It's shallow shelving makes it ideal for little ones to paddle safely. There are lots of rock pools to explore and with a cafe/ beach shop, toilets and car park all your needs are catered for. Ynys Dulas known locally as Seal Island lies just off shore. Lligwy is a perfect place to spot seals, dolphins and porpoise.
