Enjoying countryside views, The Anchorage lies close to the coast at Carmel Head and makes a perfect base for enjoying many outdoor activities such as walking the Anglesey Heritage Coastal Path, cycling and birdwatching. Below are just some of the many beautiful places to explore.
The nearest shop is 5 miles.
The Lobster Pot restaurant is 3 miles away and is a must-visit to enjoy local seafood.
North Wales Wildlife Trust Reserve at nearby Cemlyn and the delightful town of Cemaes Bay (four miles), with its pretty harbour and lovely sandy beach.
Snowdonia National Park is an easy drive away, with its myriad of outdoor pursuits and dramatic mountain scenery.
Malltraeth to Newborough Warren Nature Reserve - Cycle or walk across the embankment at the reserve - a birdwatchers paradise. Look out for the red squirrel that thrives on the island now the greys have almost been completely eradicated.
Parys Mountain is local to the property, one of Anglesey's must-visit locations! There is a network of walks around the weird landscape of the ancient copper mine at Parys Mountain. A sight not to be missed is the spectacular Great Opencast â?? shaped by miners using nothing more than picks, shovels and gunpowder! There is a level walk around the top of the Great Opencast and a viewing area with a stunning panorama that shows off the excavation's amazing colours - an artist's palette of reds, oranges, pinks, browns, purples, blacks, greens, yellows, and greys.
Holyhead - this bustling port with day trips to Ireland, is a short drive.
Situated on a peaceful country lane and is perfect for those wishing for a quiet, get away from it all holiday. Spectacular walking and bird watching are available from the doorstep with the North Wales Naturalists' Trust Cemlyn nature reserve, with its renowned sandwich tern nesting colony nearby and common and grey seals, porpoises and dolphins. Much more wildlife can be seen locally, including polecats, owls and birds of prey. Other activities available locally include golf, fishing, sailing and pony trekking
Conwy, Caernarfon and Beaumaris with their historic town centres and castles perfect for a day out.
Plas Newydd Country House and Gardens (National Trust), the home of the Marquess of Anglesey, with spectacular views of Snowdonia across the Menai Straits is a lovely place to spend the day.
