  • Aberdaron Spar has a butchers shop within, selling local cuts for your BBQ. If you prefer seafood, try the crab cakes from Splash Fish bar. The thatched Bakery.
  • Becws Islyn is a delightful bakery, with an outdoor seating area as well as a wide variety of takeaway savoury and sweet treats for your day on the beach.
  • There are several top-notch eating places in the village, two pubs and a newsagents/off license. An Ice cream parlour and gift shop are just off the beach.
  • Explore Ynys Enlli Island (Bardsey Island) between March and October, on a Bardsey Island boat trip run by Colin Evans. The 12 seater leaves from Porth Meudwy, a short drive from Aberdaron. You can expect to spot Seals, Porpoises and a fabulous diversity of seabirds during the journey. You'll get to spend 4hrs doing your own this on this magical, mystical Island.
  • The headland at the tip on the Llyn Peninsula, Uwch Mynydd is not to be missed, coastal walking at its very best, superb views of Bardsey Island to the west and mountains of Snowdonia to the east.
  • 10 miles from Abersoch and 12 miles from Morfa Nefyn, day trips are easy if you fancy a change of scene. A local minibus runs in the summer months, ferrying people from one coastal village to another for a minimal fee, a great way to enjoy the landscape without having to watch the road, it also affords you the option of having a pub lunch and drink at the Ty Coch pub at Porthdinllaen, voted one of the top ten beach bars in the world.

Aberdaron shops and beach

  • Stroll down to the village where there are two good pubs serving excellent food and wine and a tempting thatched cafe/bakery serving afternoon teas and take away treats for your day on the beach.

Uwchmynydd (N.T)

  • This is a heath-covered headland above the village and is and home to a variety of rare plants and birds - an ideal spot from where to catch sight of elusive Bardsey Island which is invisible from the village or the Peninsula.

Llyn Peninsula Coastal Path near Aberdaron

  • The Coastal Path can be joined near the bungalow - a gentle and unhurried way to explore the rugged coastline and discover secret little bays.

Plas yn Rhiw Manor House (N.T)

  • A delightful manor house nearby, garden lovers will appreciate the many flowering trees and shrubs and brilliant displays of bluebells in early summer.

Abersoch, Llanbedrog Beach (N.T)

  • Abersoch beach and Porth Tocyn Restaurant are the highlights. This excellent restaurant has been mentioned in the Good Food Guide every year since 1957. Be sure to book in advance. It's not to be missed.

    Glasfryn Park Multi Activity Centre, Y Ffor

    • A wonderful day out for the whole family. Choose from karting, fishing, ten-pin bowling, archery, wakeboarding, quads and more. Eat at one of two licensed restaurants and stock up on local produce from the farm shop.

    Ffestiniog Railway & Welsh Highlands Railway, Porthmadog

    • Enjoy a nostalgic trip on this unique narrow gauge railway journey from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog.
    • The Welsh Highlands Railway journey travels from Porthmadog through the glorious Snowdonia countryside to Caernarfon. (newly opened 2010)

Here you can learn a little about the history of Aberdaron when looking at the murals around the room. You'll be sure of a very warm welcome.
