Guide To Bardsey Island

Bardsey Island is truly beautiful, with a long history dating back to the sixth century, when St. Cadfan is believed to have built a monastery, which has attracted pilgrims to the religious site ever since. The monastery is now in ruins, however, its story still brings hundreds of people to the island each year. There's a striking Celtic cross carved in stone on the island, which is a vision and a perfect place for a spot of photography.

The island is an internationally important nature reserve, populated by rare flowering plants, seabirds, seals and many other wonderful specimens of wildlife. A trip to this part of the Lleyn Peninsula will be fun for all the family, as there is plenty just waiting to be explored on Bardsey Island.
