  • Apart from Criccieth's beaches only 6 miles from the farmhouse are some of the Llyn peninsula's best beaches, Morfa Nefyn and Nefyn take the Coastal Path along the headland from Nefyn and enjoy the spectacular views of two sweeping bays. Descend and walk along the beach to the picture perfect fishing village of Porthdinllaen and enjoy a drink at the Ty Coch pub voted the 3rd most popular beach bar in the world!

Try country shooting, wakeboarding, ten pin bowling, soft play , stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and so much more.

  • Criccieth must be on of the most popular small towns at the edge of the peninsula with its sweeping promenade 2 Blue Flag beaches, excellent independent shops, good restaurants. Try the fish and chips opposite Cadwaladers renowned ice cream parlour both on Castle street. The ruined Criccieth Castle on the hillside dominates the small town. It captivated the artist JMW Turner who painted it in the early 19th Century.

Dylan's, Criccieth

  • Set along the foreshore award winning Dylan's is a spacious, light filled, informal restaurant, housed in an iconic building designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, founder of Portmeirion Italianate village. Enjoy local seafood and shellfish as well as daily specials.

  • A mile away you will find this pretty village with old almshouses, a school, thick stone walled cottages and an ancient Church with St Cybil's Well - the water was renowned for its healing properties in medieval times.

Boat Trips

  • Boats from Porth Meudwy (N.T.) near Aberdaron on the tip of the peninsula leave regularly during good weather to drop off visitors to Bardsey, the 'Isle of 20,000 Saints'. Once a place of pilgrimage the island is now cherished for its tranquility, outstanding natural beauty and wonderful wildlife.

Penarth Fawr

  • Explore the country lanes near the farmhouse and find Penarth Fawr a rare example of a completely untouched medieval house no fireplace, the smoke from the fire in the centre of the room would escape through a hole in the roof - very sooty!

  • Join the coast path at the water's edge of Criccieth then turn inland along the river banks and rural lanes to the village of Llanystumdwy where there is a museum to David Lloyd George our first and last Welsh prime minister who lived here throughout his childhood. Enjoy refreshments in a typical Welsh pub the Tafarn y Plu.

  • The main town on the peninsula has many distinctive, independent shops and boutiques as well as an important watersports centre, marina and blue flag awarded sandy beach. There are boat trips from the harbour which skirt the rugged edges of the peninsula passing inlets, islands and in good weather Bardsey Island. This was a place of pilgrimage in Medieval times and there are the ruins of an Augustinian abbey and plenty of rare bird life.

Pas Heli, Pwllheli

  • An international sailing centre and events venue with bars and restaurants overlooking the vast sandy beach, open to all.

  • Take the coast road northward to enjoy a day out in Caernarfon and visit the magnificent Caernarfon Castle.
